AP:

The memoirs of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the youngest and last surviving brother of the country's most famous political siblings and for decades an eminent liberal statesman and legislator, have been acquired by an imprint of the Hachette Book Group USA.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but a publishing official with knowledge of the negotiations said Monday that the agreement was comparable to the $8 million Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton received for "Living History" and the $9 million former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will reportedly get for his planned memoir. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity, following standard industry practice.

boy oh boy, I can wait to read his account of how he got soused, dunked Maryjo in the creek, and left her to drown...

Only in the Democratic party can a sitting Senator get away with manslaughter.

The Kennedy family sacrificed so much for the nation. One son was killed in war, and two were asssiasinated performing public service. Ted Kennedy, the only surviving son, has spent decades fighting for the poor and underprivileged.

Since the Kennedy's were rich kids, trust fund babies, they didn't have to do any of that. They could have easily spent their lives at the country club or on an enormous yacht.

And yet all the Repoopicons, most of whom we have come to know as corrupt thugs and sexual deviants, spend all their time carping about an ancient car accident.

None of them, of course, mention that Laura Bush t-boned her ex-boy friend under highly suspicious circumstances.

Memoirs?

How much do you think a 75 year old alcoholic can really remember?

it should be properly labeled "Blackouts"

Georgie went after Saddam because "He tried to kill my dad" Tried to, so hundreds of thousands have been slaughtered. The Kennedy's had two sons assasinated, yet, strangely, they did not start an endless invasion of a country that had nothing to do with it. Imagine that. Takes intelligence to react like an adult. Sadly, intelligence is sorely missing in the Bush gene pool.

I can't wait to read the memoir of Senator Ted Kennedy, I will buy it. JFK has a LOT of impact in my life especially in my formative years, he was my hero, I looked up to him. My political views, how I look at governance and people in power is influence a lot by Ted's brother. I remember when Senator Ted attempted to ran for President, my parents prayed he will not win, they said "they'll kill him like they did to Jack & Bobby."

I appreciate most of the values and votes that Kennedy has demonstrated during his tenure in the Senate. I am very disappointed that he, reportedly, takes more money from the Big Pharmas than any other Senator. I hope that these reports are wrong and if they are true, I hope he will answer these allegations. Surely he doesn't need their money. http://www.newstarget.com/drug_industry.html

Good for him. If the racist neocon assholes can get tons of money for writing crap, at least he can get his share and actually write something interesting. And for all of you who still insist on doing stupid Chappaquiddick "jokes", get a life, ok?

Mary Joe Kopechne was Robert's girlfriend.
And I believe in a dire situation as drowning
self-survival prevails! Could happen to any of us or did, just check the collapse of the 2 bridges. Was he not promised a lifetime in the senate for being quiet about his brother's death? We only would find out more if Bush would not have sealed the JFK investigation.
Will we ever find out?

Why don't Laura & Jenna write a book on crippled Iraqi orphans, who will be begging and starving for the rest of their lives because George wanted to exact revenge on Saddam?

I hope he finally tells the truth about killing Mary Jo. Yeah, sure - I'll hold my breath. For those of you who have never been to Martha's Vineyard, you would be amazed at how tiny the bridge is that he went over and that he didn't save her. I pictured it as a huge bridge but it is not
