AP:

The memoirs of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the youngest and last surviving brother of the country's most famous political siblings and for decades an eminent liberal statesman and legislator, have been acquired by an imprint of the Hachette Book Group USA.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but a publishing official with knowledge of the negotiations said Monday that the agreement was comparable to the $8 million Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton received for "Living History" and the $9 million former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will reportedly get for his planned memoir. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity, following standard industry practice.

I really don't understand the attacks on Ted Kennedy . . . but suspect they have a lot to do with the fact that he voted against the invasion of Iraq and has repeatedly stood up to the bushies . . .

I will buy his memoirs . . .

His "memoir" can be summed up in four words -

"Gurgle, gurgle, choke, gasp"

You left-wing libs are repulsive beyond words.

foregone conclusion, he'll gloss over everything improtant and pander to his political career.

Points glossed over, John and Roberts deaths, Kopechne death.

Let's see how forthright he will become about cheating in school and Mary Jo Kopechne.

"There I was on the river bank near the bridge stuck on the horns of a dilemma. Should I try to save the girl who's pants I had been trying to get into, but barely knew - or should I avoid all risk to myself and run home to claim I didn't remember anything that happened."

"Boy, that was a tough call, I'm just glad it came out so well!"

I would buy his book, but never buy one from Bush, Cheney (Lynne or Dick), Rove, DeLay or any of the repugs. Kennedy at least tries to help ordinary people. The Kennedy's are all involved in some sort of public service, unlike the Bush clan, all out for themselves. GHW thinks he is a hero for jumping out of a plane (with a guide), Babs stipulates where her donations for charity are to go (to Neal's company) Jenna wrote a book about a poor teenage mother with Aids, saying "some of the proceeds will go to this young woman" Why not ALL? Reportedly she received $300,000. Now she is writing another book, with her mother. Who buys these books? Nobody I know would buy one.
