Everyday people sent in more than 40,000 video clips for consideration in a debate sponsored by CNN and YouTube. The debate marks the Republicans' eighth major confrontation of the 2008 campaign.

Mitt the master of the non answers. Is water boarding torture?? The man gave a non answer, it's either a yes or no, not what Mitt gave. Most of the questions asked of him, same thing. Nothing but a smug jerk smile. How nice to know that this guy will not be our next President. Go Ron Paul! At least he gave honest answers and differed from the rest of the pack.

That Republican line-up looks like 1950, they
are pathetic. I only saw seconds of it, while
flipping channels, but one moment must be
discussed. Ron Paul was booed when he talked
about bringing the troops home, not forcing
ourselves into other countries business, and
that we need to be literally building bridges
here, not blowing them up in Iraq and then
building them in Iraq. The insane, McCain then
said, "I will veto any bridges to no where,"
while holding up a pen. IT WASN'T A BRIDGE
TO "NO WHERE" THAT PAUL WAS TALKING ABOUT -
HE WAS TALKING ABOUT BRIDGES IN THIS COUNTRY
THAT ARE IN SERIOUS DANGER OF COLLAPSING!
McCain really is INSANE - REALITY HAS LEFT
THIS OLD SOB!

It was interesting watching Mitt and Rudy rip at each other. None seemed too concerned about healthcare, education, or the general welfare of the American people. Neither party has addressed China as the real looming threat. Huckabee seemed to be the winner, a possible real winner if only he weren't pro - war!

"Do they think we need all those guns to protect against the threat of gay marriage?"

The reality is we need all those guns to protect ourselves from them! We are moving closer to a military/police state. Live Free or Die!

What a group of presidential candidates! All support a backward policy against gays in the military, some would end the income tax, most support unregulated gun ownership, most oppose sensible policies on illegal immigration, and one won't condemn waterboarding.

Do they think we need all those guns to protect against the threat of gay marriage?

I was looking forward to the debate hoping that we could hear more from Dr. Paul. I feel like I had Rudy and Romney shoved in my face for two hours...I'm sick and tired of these two getting all the air time. Neither has a clue to what the American people want.

What...no articles here yet about the "undecided republicans" whose questions were used during the debate?

The gay General who is on HRC's steering committee? This guy not only had a video question, he was in the audience!

The blue dress girl whose profile reads "I support John Edwards. Do you?"

The "log cabin republican" whose profile goes into detail of his support for Obama?

Well, at least CNN is fair and balanced...they used HRC plants at both debates! (Should we start referring to HRC as Hillary the Horticulturalist?)

That was a total waste of two hours and ten minutes...LOL! Not one mention of the health care crisis, education, jobs, or helping the middle class. You know, stuff that actually MATTERS to most of the American people. The responses to gays in the military and the one question about inner-city violence were despicable, and the res way the typical "war and guns good, gays and abortion bad" GOP rhetoric we always here. These candidates are an absolute disgrace!

Mitt Romney and Rudy Guiliani are actually two sides of the same coin. Both have in past incarnations fooled the vestige liberal to moderate Republicans that they were part of the Old Northeast Rockefeller Republican group.

Both of them are "born again fascists." I do believe that Romney is the worst offender. Ask MA brothers and sisters and others offended by his actions. The 1913 racist law he revived to stop gays and lesbians nationally to go to MA to get married makes him, IMHO, a national focus for gay and lesbian Republicans to stop his candidacy.

Any day now, I expect Rudy in drag to be thwarted by old vignettes of Milton Berle or even Bob Hope in drag to show that his embrace of the "HOMOsexual" is also past tense.

American corporate political theatre is based upon "infotertainment". It is "panem et circenses" while Rome burns and Nero fiddles.

Political parties in the USA have always been rather stable. The Federalists became the Whigs who became the Republicans and the Democratic-Republicans of Jefferson's day became the Democratic party of Jackson.

The Civil War changed the realities in the South when blacks were disenfranchised but told that they were the Republican party of the South. The Democratic Party of the South was racist and dixiecrat...and morphed into the new Republican Party of Jeff Davis. Blacks in the South became the Democratic party along with some moderates, centrists and pragmatists who formed the DINO Democratic Leadership Council. Yes, this group controls the party of FDR. They are international corporatist enablers.

If they have one saving grace, it is that they are preferable to the Corporate RightWing Fascists from a LGBT perspective or from the left on many issues. They do no good, but they do less harm.

Tried to watch for a while... really, I did. But, after five minutes of empty-headed prattle over whether each moron takes the Bible literally -- word for word -- or figuratively, I went desperately channel-surfing for a good 'CSI Miami' re-run.

Are these REALLY the GOP candidates for President Of The United States, or is it just a clever diversion to throw off the voters till the very last minute?

Never mind... tomorrow's narrative palaver will be righteous indignation over "another plant by Hillary": Keith Kerr, retired Colonel U.S. Army, retired Brigadier General, California National Reserve, who happens to serve on Clinton's GLBT task force.

Can't have a Democrat asking a question... no telling what might happen.
