Seeking to keep the peace in its popular online hangout, Facebook Inc. has overhauled a new advertising system that sparked privacy complaints by turning its users into marketing tools for other companies.

Under the changes outlined late Thursday, Facebook's 55 million users will be given greater control over whether they want to participate in a three-week-old program that circulates potentially sensitive information about their online purchases and other activities.

I don't think that a more accurate description was ever written about what big business thinks of people. We are tools to them, nothing more. If they could put a money tube in us(think Matrix) and suck dollars out of us they would.

"Bow to their critics"??? Facebook did nothing of the sort. What they did amounts to window dressing. There is still no way to opt out completely from a highly invasive program.

It is amazing when liberals see Capitalism working and then advocate Government Regulations as the answer to solve all other problems.

Why can't liberals do THIS with everything else?
