Yesterday in an address to the Council on Foreign Relations, Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) stepped up his rhetoric against the Bush administration, calling it one of the most "incompetent" in history:

Hagel, who considered running for the GOP presidential nomination as an antiwar candidate, told the foreign policy experts that he would give the Bush administration "the lowest grade of any I've known."

HAD THE PATRIOT ACT which is neither NOT BEEN PUT INTO PLACE, THERE WOULD BE A REVOLUTION TODAY IN THE UNITED STATES.......WHO KNOWS? PERHAPS A REVOLUTION ALREADY OCURRING.........PERHAPS A GOOD SHOW OF FAITH WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD WE COULD TURN OVER BUSH, HIS CHILDREN, HIS BROTHERS, HIS PARENTS, HIS RELATIVES, HIS FRIENDS, TO THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT. GIVE CHENEY, RUMSFORD, ROVE TO THE INTERNATIONAL WAR TRIBUNAL AS WITH GONZALEZ AND RICE

The American people have become a pustule on the great beast of the military industrial complex. Most of the Presidential sweepstakes candidates are directly or indirectly nurtured by the beast. Our political structure was relevant to its time, but for it to represent us in an exponentially more complex world is a very simple marketing problem for the beast. Our elections are rigged and may forever be rigged, but somehow there still abides a ray of hope. If the two party system really worked to nominate a Richardson or a Huckaby, perhaps we could once more believe in it, but if the mainstream media chooses our limited field, then we can count on more of the same. Not reckoning on those unlikely picks, I still hope in the candidacies of the mavericks like Paul and Kucinich. I like Senator Feingold for his valiant defense of American liberty. Perhaps our best chance might be with a wounded infantryman like Hagel who could begin to put a leash on the rampant beast that we have loosed to suck the entrails from all the nations of the world even as it has consumed us.

Hagel and Lugar are probably the last two Republicans that I like.

As a Vietnam era veteran like Senator Hagel, I was very impressed with him for being the only Republican Senator with the brains and the guts to oppose the Iraq War. He knew the price that he would pay for his stand. He knew that estrangement within his party and the subsequent end of his Senatorial stint would be the reward for his courage. How many in Washington and how many in the Presidential sweepstakes would sacrifice as much? I'll be waiting for your answer!

I pledge allegiance to the neocon flag of the United States of Bush,
And to the failing Republic for which it implodes,
One nation under surveillance, divisible by profits,
With torture and injustice for all but the goons.

Oh many of us fully understand the shitty system and how it works--to the almost total exclusion of the voters. And personally, I am not a salmon swimming upstream only to die anyway. If I'm going I'm going to attempt to change or eliminate the shitty system. Like lots of folks, I've got nothing to lose and I can't possibly win with the way things are now. Vote your morals, your ethics, your beliefs, your conscience.

Well what's the point in telling us something about George W that we've known for years?
Hillary Clinton is intelligent, well educated, an excellent politician, for she could talk all night and not actually say anything of substance, or actually answer a question directly. However, I get the impression that Hillary is every bit the warmonger that George is, her love for money is self evident, and far from ending the illegal occupation of Iraq, I feel she is minded to lob a few bunker buster bombs in the direction of Iran. So, apart from a few cosmetic changes, concerning torture and murdering innocent Iraq civillians, I feel it would be very much business as usual with this lady in the White House. America has, financially speaking, crossed the point of no return, regardless of who the next President may be!

Another one of Huffpo's twisting an article to the favor of Clinton!!!

I admire Hagel so much...so to see his name linked with HRC I had to read it. He talked about Biden alot more...Biden & Dodd.

The ONLY thing he said about Clinton was that "she's capable."

Doesn't sound like a booming endoresment, put me on her ticket kind of thing to me!!!!!!!

GEES!!

THANK YOU Chuck Hagel for being the mouthpiece in the public arena and saying what the rest of us know to be true.

THE WORLD should know that GWBUSH AND COMPANY are not represenative of who we, as a nation are.

REGARDLESS OF YOUR PARTY AFFILIATION, JAN. 20, 2009....THE END OF AN "ERROR" !!!!!!!
