Location of accident was not "outside Chicago".

It was aroung 41st Street on the south side of Chicago.

While passing a small crowd that was gathered around a television when this story was being played up, I heard a guy ask out loud "How in todays day and age can two trains make it onto the same track?"

Another guy standing within earshot said without even hesitating "They must be using Microsoft! Its always crashing."

Most of the crowd simply walked away shaking their heads and laughing.

Maybe Huffington Post should just shut down all comments on all threads since "compassionate" Libs can't seem to comment without wishing someone ill, hurt or dead.

I dont know a whole lot about how its done, but I have a friend who's been an engineer on Union Pacific for almost 40 years now, and he said even with all the computer tracking and millions of dollars in technology and trained people, he has to bind the brakes at least 2 times a year due to a train on his track, or vise versa. A red light when it should be green, and you could be facing an oncoming train.

I see a minimum of 500 lawsuits being filed.
