Card: Rove's Claim That Congress Pushed Bush To War Is Wrong

Karl Rove told Charlie Rose during a recent interview that Congress had pushed President Bush to go into Iraq prematurely. According to Rove, the White House had been opposed to holding the war vote close to the 2002 elections because "we thought it made it too political."

This morning, former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card went on MSNBC's Morning Joe and laughed off Rove's claims. Read part of the transcript from Think Progress:

SCARBOROUGH: We have to start with something that we all are talking about a couple of days ago where Karl Rove went on Charlie Rose and he blamed the Democrats for pushing him and the president into war. Is that how it worked?

CARD: No, that's not the way it worked.

Card went on to explain that sometimes Rove's "mouth gets ahead of his brain":

SCARBOROUGH: Is that just Karl spinning beyond the White House? ...

CARD: Well, Karl is very smart. He's -- sometimes his brain gets ahead of his mouth. And sometimes his mouth gets ahead of his brain.

Newsweek should revoke his contract as one of their commentators or whatever they call these criminals. I am looking forward to his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Let's see if he lies some more and ends up in prison. Well, perhaps, that won't make any difference as Bush will pardon him.

What happened to our Justice System may never be known as everything is secured and identified as national security. Is anyone attending to the fact that these slugs are the ones who are endangering our country's national security.

It had to wait until both retired from active duty in the White House. Andrew Card...the Yankee Brahmin Ivy Leaguer versus the College Dropout Texan. Only a phony Texan, born in CT and himself a Yankee Brahmin New Englander Ivy Leaguer, like George Walker Bush could have put two such divergent men in the same office.

Andrew Card was probably the most cuckolded chief of staff in decades - maybe since Ike created the post of chief of staff borrowed from his military days. Chimpy loved Turd Blossom and Andy reminded him of who he REALLY was, and that was uncomfortable for the phony twang Texan.
