Karl Rove Smiles

Karl Rove told Charlie Rose during a recent interview that Congress had pushed President Bush to go into Iraq prematurely. According to Rove, the White House had been opposed to holding the war vote close to the 2002 elections because "we thought it made it too political."

This morning, former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card went on MSNBC's Morning Joe and laughed off Rove's claims. Read part of the transcript from Think Progress:

SCARBOROUGH: We have to start with something that we all are talking about a couple of days ago where Karl Rove went on Charlie Rose and he blamed the Democrats for pushing him and the president into war. Is that how it worked?

CARD: No, that's not the way it worked.

Card went on to explain that sometimes Rove's "mouth gets ahead of his brain":

SCARBOROUGH: Is that just Karl spinning beyond the White House? ...

CARD: Well, Karl is very smart. He's -- sometimes his brain gets ahead of his mouth. And sometimes his mouth gets ahead of his brain.

Rove is a lying sack of crap. He wouldn't know the truth if it kicked him in the ass. Just think of this as him trying to rewrite history to make his buddy Bu$h look good. Won't happen, but he can try.

Jack Cafferty said the other day, "We are spending $700 million a day in Iraq". Is this correct, why aren't more people talking about it?

And isn't Charlie Rose the doofus for not even challenging the assertion.

All this is a game to Carl Rove--he has lost whatever moral compass he might have had. Mr Rove loves gamesmanship--cynicism--stirring the pot. He laughs, he lies, he stirs the pot again and again and people die.

I don't know, I don't feel angry anymore, but saddened. Maybe I'm just getting tired of the lack of unity in this country, the partisan politics, the lies, the stupidity, the fact that I'm no longer PMS'ing...

When did we lose this country?

Why do we even care at this point? When will not reporting what this fool has done be more appropriate? I don't understand what is accomplished by giving him center stage again, he has done plenty to make us appear to be suckers. Haven't we learned our lesson?

I'll play your game.
Question, are you happy that to Occupy Iraq your tax dollars were used to drop bombs that blew children, women bearing children to bits, a fine red mist?
watch this...

AHahahaha...

Andy Card putting the record straight, that's a good one!

Who's next? David Addington?

Like anyone of them has even a modicum of credibility.

Rove is so corrupted with lies that he can't even tell truth from lies anymore, only what he wants to believe. A true sociopath.

If the war and occupation in Iraq are such a great success as the Republicans continually tell us then why is Master Rove trying to give congress all of the credit for initiating the war?

What you say the American people are not buying the Republican line? This loathsome little man will stoop to nothing to create a permanent Republican majority. Including rewriting history.

Surely, we are not as dumb as he thinks. At some point his spin will be recognized for the lie that it is. Public policy, least of all the decision to go to war should not be based on an advertising campaign. But then again, when have they ever come to the public with clean hands and laid out the truth or at least the pros and cons of any given policy.

Maybe we should move to an era of holding them personally responsible for their decisions. After all it is their belief that each of us should be responsible for every act, including health insurance, and retirement planing. How silly of me, of course responsibility only devolves to the lowest man on the latter. It never ever applies to government or corporations.

What is truly surprising is that Card is disputing Rove. Just who is Card protecting?

Spinning outside the White House? Spinning out of control? Sometimes Roves brain gets ahead of his mouth?

How many different ways can the Recorporat Party say "Lie."

Rove is a liar, like Bush and Scooter and Chenney and McClellen and Delay and Randy "Duke" Cunningham and O'really and Bremmer and probably most of the "Telejournalists" holding court for them.

I look forward to the day when Karl Rove admits that he and George Bush thought "don't ask, don't tell" was a foreign policy initiative.

No one with even a moderate level of intelligence would believe this absurdity from Rove. The question I am left with is why on earth would Charlie Rose allow himself and his show to be forever tied to this lie? I doubt I will be able to watch Mr. Rose again without wondering what was in it for him. If you play with pigs you get dirty, Charlie.

Again if anyone is interested the Democratic National Committee Fall Meeting just started on C-Span. The morning session will feature Obama, Edwards, Dodd and Richardson.

The afternoon will feature Kucinich, Clinton, Biden and Nancy Pelosi.

Howard Dean is speaking right now. I don't care what anyone says, if Howard Dean would have been the 2004 nominee he would have kicked George's Ass.
