Many evangelical Christians have taken issue with Hillary Clinton for promoting abortion rights, gay rights and teen condom use, but you wouldn't have known it from the standing ovation that greeted her at Saddleback Church on Thursday afternoon.

Although all leading presidential candidates were invited, Clinton was the only one to show up for the annual Global Summit on AIDS and the Church. She delivered a bipartisan message that emphasized the role of the church in addressing AIDS.

I'm not an evan. But quite frankly, I think those nuts are no different than extreme Moslems trying to hijack government. I would like to send them to Africa and let them work with the tribal communities and let them compete with Al Qaeda for support. Hillary is trying the Clinton trianglulation like her husband and cannot put it together

I've been looking at this photo for four days or so, and it finally clicked what's been bothering me about it: why is Clinton dressed like a Star Fleet Admiral?

Hillary is lying to a bunch of people in Des Moines.

She is telling the she will pay for their universal health insurance.Liar!!

She says the can have the plan Senators have.
Well Hillary, I don't make $100,000 a year like a Senator and can't afford the Senate plan.

Where is my free health care Hillary????

I could never bring myself to vote for HRC. But HRC is the first and really only liberal out there who understands the vast majority have some or serious faith in there Christian beliefs. If HRC true faith matches her rhetoric then many of the religeous faith will give HRC consideration. HRC was right when she said there has to be more room in the public square for all faiths to express themselves.

Sen. Clinton seems to be proposing increased funding for Bush's so-called faith based initiatives.

I don't want my tax money going to churches. Churches shouldn't want the scrutiny and conflict of interest that their use of taxpayer funds will surely bring.

If Sen. Clinton is in fact proposing to increase federal funding for churches, it's yet another reason I won't be voting for her.

Taking hostages might be a stunt that both Billery and Obomba would try to pull off.

If he gets on any national ticket, he will be holding the rest of the country hostage to injustice.

Crazy is as crazy does. Both Billery and Obomba are crazy (dysfunctional) enough to throw the election to the GOP by thinking they can win anything on a national ticket.

The real hostage taker in the news is mentally ill to the point of knowing he is ill. He should look for supporting charities in the private sector.

I'm so impressed. Finally, a Democrat who can get the support of Rupert Murdoch, evangelical Christians, mainstream Black ministers (who always endorse the White guy), neo-Cons, top generals, the health care industry, some of the oil cartel, CEOs of all stripes and even her husband. So long as the label Democrat (and her husband) is attached to her, even labor leaders accept her pro-free trade, pro outsourcing, pro-undocumented-workers-taking-former-union-scale-jobs positions.

And for the real He-Men, she'll let you have your wars (while you guys advise her in Washington, DC, our families will do the dying and being maimed in her battlefields).

How can you stupid, Democratic Party sickophants, so-called progressives be so hypocritical that you support her? Are you blind?

the huffpo editors and the subset of hillary bashers who flock and eagerly post have surely reached a new low today. the powers that be blocked the comment section on the hostage situation today ... why ... it seems to me too many of the posts were pro hillary ... or at least neutral. the posters on this thread cant even give their negativity a rest for one day.

i have no plans on voting for hillary in the primary ... but for god's sake ... enough is enough ... the gutter sniping, rat fucking and personal attacks are doing nothing but helping the gop.

Check out Sojourners. Imagine the current GOP/RNC advocating Jesus' 'Sermon on the mount!

There's nothing new about the "Christian left." Jesus ate and drank with 'sinners.'

The moralistic Pharacees of his day were (RNC/GOP type of) critics of Jesus and advocated his killing.

I have no problem reaching out. Obama talks about working with Republican leaning groups all the time. So long as it's not at the expense of core values.
