Leeland Eisenberg was supposed to be in court today. Instead, he allegedly took the Rochester, NH office of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign hostage. Eisenberg was due in court on domestic violence charges. His wife, Lisa (Warren) Eisenberg, filed for divorce on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences over Eisenberg's alcohol and drug abuse and severe verbal abuse and threats.

I find this story to be verrry sad for all involved. As a social service oriented person, I try to look at the BIG Picture in all matters. Despite this individuals personal problems, he is still someone who needs extensive help and compassion. This choice does not absolve him of responsibility and consequences. That he became so desperate that he chose to seek attention in such a frightening, aggressive manner is further evidence that people's needs are subjugated in favor of profit in our world. I am not excusing him, but I will always error with compassion for such a lost person. As the facts are more fully learned, I am certain I will not change my view. Many of those who will pass judgment are guilty of far worse crimes. I do feel sympathy for those who endured the fright of being caught in this man's personal drama. Luckily, no one was injured physically, but the hype will further injure all psychologically. I am also certain that this will join the annals of stories to justify more "prisons" and "terrorism" labels for people rather than mental and physical care for the sick among us. Imagine how desperate, impaired and ill we would have to become in order to commit suicide (suicide bombers) in the ways so many have chosen worldwide??? My hope is that HRC's compassion will extend to this suffering soul. Peace, J22
