NYT: Rudy's Frequent New York Statistics Are "Just Plain Wrong"

First Posted: 3/28/08 Updated: 5/25/11

Rudy Gets His Facts Wrong

In almost every appearance as he campaigns for the Republican presidential nomination, Rudolph W. Giuliani cites a fusillade of statistics and facts to make his arguments about his successes in running New York City and the merits of his views....

...An examination of many of his statements by The New York Times, other news organizations and independent groups have turned up a variety of misstatements, virtually all of which cast Mr. Giuliani or his arguments in a better light. "He's given us a lot of work up until now," said Brooks Jackson, the director of Annenberg Political Fact Check, which is part of Factcheck.org, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania that has corrected statements by candidates in both parties.

Has Rudy ever taken the time to produce his income and its sources for public viewing? I'm interested in seeing an expose' on his Bracewell Giuliani royalties, his Guiliani Partners, LLC and his Guiliani Security Services, Inc. anti-terrorism business that's moved over to Japan.

Rude Rudy will say whatever it takes to try to get the repuke nomination.

He is just a balding clone of GWB, a lieing, arrogant bully.

Giuliani may or may not have done a good job in NYC. Who cares? It still remains the overpopulated, crime ridden cesspool like it was before and during his tenure.
Futhermore, Rudy's mafia cone of silence won't function under the national spotlight. His opponents, reporters and bloggers will keep digging at whatever it is he's trying to hide.

Rudy's a phoney. What else does anyone need to know? Oh, yeah - - 9/11. Like he had anything to do with the recovery. Hey, I live in New Orleans and C.Ray did 10 times more for us and that wasn't very heroic either.

Crime went down nationwide as the conditions of life for the citizens improved. No surprise there. The rising boat and all that.

But the politicians don't connect the dots and admit that (1) the government and the country belongs to the citizens; (2) the only authority and job of the politicians is to improve the lives of the citizens, and assure us that we have healthcare, education, employment, safety in our food and drugs and on the streets and from foreign attack.

Find me one gang member whose family earns over $50,000/year (without the criminal income). There are none.

Want to end crime? Make a better country for all our people. It's just that simple. Stop shovelling money into other countries and start spending it here at home. Employ my neighbors to re-build schools, roads, bridges, to teach, to provide healthcare. That's where our money should go.

Has anyone else realized that the conservatives invented crime escalation, and invented new bogey-men, at exactly the moment when crime went down, and the Soviet Union disappeared. How could these corrupt politicians continue stealing our money and using it to hire more police, buy weapons, send mercenaries to other countries to kill their people, if our crime was down and the U.S. was not involved in any wars - cold or otherwise.

The "invention" of the new drug crimes (twenty years for one joint) allowed the neocons to feed more money into prison construction, the prison guard union, mercenaries -- all the old Republican supporters. And prevent the citizens from using our own money to make our lives better.

The drug war fed the defense industry as we sent our "helpers" around the world to prop up the brutal dictatorships under the guise of stopping drug production. And now we have the war against the Muslims.

And the Democrats want to muscle in on the scam. They don't want to end it.

Crime, drugs, war, anti-Muslim fanatacism, they're all part of the same scam to steal most of the wealth of this country, while keeping the citizens all very afraid.

Debunking Julie-Annie's claims:

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/the_not-quite_truth_about_nyc.html

Even though Giuliani claims to have slashed NYC taxes by $9B, "We found, however, that eight of those were state tax cuts approved in Albany and a ninth was a tax reduction Giuliani vociferously opposed before agreeing to side with the city council on the matter."

Even though Giuliani claims to have slashed NYC welfare by 60%, "...welfare rolls across the nation dropped by 62.2 percent during the same time period."

The article also tempers his claims of reducing crime and governing the most liberal city in America.

I'm so looking forward to all the juicy Rudy/Judy naughty bits to come out. I'm sure Ms. Hanover could provide some tasty details.
