At 7:45 this morning, Sen. Barack Obama will set vice presidential speculation on fire with a brief stop to say hello to New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, himself an occasional presidential flirt. The meeting appeared on Bloomberg's schedule, which was distributed to reporters last night.

An Obama aide said the meeting was scheduled because of "mutual interest" and did not know whether the two had met before.

It's funny how everything Bloomberg does the media says he did because he wants to be president. Give it a rest for heaven's sake.

An independent President, what support are they going to get in the Congress and senate?

I think if Obama does not get the nomination for the Democratic Party, he will run as an Independent with Bloomberg as his VP.

I'm an Independent-- we are a growing force- if Hillary wins the nod- I guarantee you, we'd go Bloomberg- Obama-- it would be unstoppable- they would win--

Chris Rock is a comedian - I understand that.

But...can you imagine the outrage if a white comedian introducing Hillary Clinton to an audience referred to Barack Obama as "that black man"?

Obama supporters seem to be willing to stoop to any level to denigrate Senator Clinton. So much for the "politics of hope".

If Obama is even entertaining the idea of Bloomberg as V.P., he has no sense of what an electable ticket is.

That seems like something Democrats are unable to come up with.

Obama should steer clear of racists like Rock.

If- God forbid- Hillary wins the Dem nomination, I'd love to see a Bloomberg/Obama ticket.

What Chris Rock said he liked about Obama was that he "voted against the war".

Obama wasn't in the Senate at the time of the vote.
Since being in the Senate, he has continuously voted to fund the war. He also supported Lieberman's re-election bid.

Never mind. Chris Rock says Obama voted against the war. That is the only praise he had for Obama.

The rest of Rock's reasoning, as he expressed it, is based on Rock's concept of race. Vote for the "brother".

Redd Foxx was much hipper.

Maybe instead of Bloomberg becoming the Democratic Veep candidate, Obama will go independent.

This only proves my theory that Obama, like Hillary, are NOT Democrats.

President Edwards. Count on it.

Everyone needs to read Paul Krugman's editorial today.

I'm so over Obama it isn't even funny. There's no there, there. It's all style and symbol without the substance.

And what it there regurgitates right-wing talking points on Social Security and Health Care.

The voters in Iowa and New Hampshire and everywhere else need to know that his health care plan does NOT cover everyone.
