Thousands of Iraqis whose support for the U.S. war effort in Iraq has put them and their families in grave danger at home are being excluded from a new fast-track system aimed at speeding up refugee resettlement in the United States for American allies, officials said Thursday.

he Bush administration within the next month will begin accepting refugee applications directly from the about 100 Iraqi employees of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and their relatives, letting them bypass an often-lengthy U.N. referral process in third countries where they must travel at great expense, they said.

How strange. Why wouldn't they chose to remain in a new democratic, U.S supported, armed and protected Iraq?

If they are "contractors" they surely have made enough money to hire their own armies if they feel they need such protection.

Where is their patriotism? Perhaps they feel it safer and more economically feasible to do their "contacting" from the U.S. Haliburton does not desire this!

Those Iraqi collaborators should learn to pray like this and maybe they will be allowed in.

Most iraqis still remember Kuwait as part of Iraq , always been before Britain decided to put it aside and help itself as much as it needed of oil before it freed the area and helped the tribes in the area to form the kingdom of kuwait . it has become a different country and has been recognized by the UN I agree , But it was always part of Iraq (check the map and you will understand )

How much sympathy would we have for Republicans if, say, the Chinese invaded us, and the Republicans collaborated with the Chinese in murdering hundreds of thousand Americans and torturing our women and children?

If you would be sympathetic to those Republicans, go ahead, welcome these Iraqi contractors.

I have no sympathy for these Iraqi contractors who collaborated with invaders who killed and injured and tortured hundreds of thousand of their countrymen, and caused millions to become homeless.

Let them face their fellow Iraqis.

President clusterfuck put all of the people of Iraq in grave danger. Does that mean that they're all entitled to come to the USA?

Why don't they go to Mexico and sneak across the border like everybody else does?

Treason is a real bitch.

The Iraqis who betrayed their own nation and their people and handed over their homeland to a foreign invader who not only cared nothing for them but, was directly responsible for the suffering created by Saddam Hussein reign, deserves no good karma. None.

They can stay there in the hell on earth they helped unleash upon their neighbours and they can rot or die.

One would think that the Iraqis would've learned from the Kurds that America is not to be trusted.

Why do they want to come here??? The surge worked!! Baghdad and Iraq are now safe!! There is no need to resettle in the US when everything is so wonderful there. Or is George lying to us again?

BRAVO! About time HS did their jobs. Vetting these Iraqis for security reasons is entirely appropriate. If the security checks are passed - WELCOME TO AMERICA!
