Obama Pulls Ahead Of Clinton In New Iowa Poll

Des Moines Register:

Barack Obama has pulled ahead in the race for Iowa's Democratic presidential caucuses, while the party's national frontrunner Hillary Clinton has slipped to second in the leadoff nominating state, according to The Des Moines Register's new Iowa Poll.

Despite the movement, the race for 2008's opening nominating contest remains very competitive about a month before the Jan. 3 caucuses, just over half of likely caucusgoers who favor a candidate saying they could change their minds.

Obama just does not have the maturity for office. In every instance he looks immature. His debate performances where he was laughed at and then stumbled and mumbled about his missed votes and immigration. His lack of a solid record. Part time teacher, part time legislator, lawyer who never litigated or won a case. The immaturity in comparing himself to people like Lincoln and Moses and JFK. His book shows him as someone aloof and suspicious of other people. The lack of judgment in dealing with people like Rezko (sp?). His judgment in choosing someone as offensive as McClurkin just to gain some evangelical political points. Sorry but he has not got the right stuff for the job.

Obama is a grown and mature man; who has not cheated on his wife; has two daughter; is a man of faith; is running for president; is charming by the bucketful and has a positive,
Resounding message.
It is very interesting that the candidates of the people are always "immature", "inexperienced" "crude"
And who know what else? Oh, and they are against term limits-it sounds like those people, New Gingrich et.al. That broke the "Contract on America" and did not keep their words on having term limits. It seems nobody wants terms limits because either they know best; or it is wonderful to have their lips on the teats of the cash-cow.
Somehow the new world order keeps meeting strong resistance from the master-chess player:
God.

Iowa doesn't concern me one bit, I don't think Bill Clinton won in Iowa when he was running for nomination. Whoever comes out low in voter turnout in Iowa, that person will drop from the race. Iowa is more like a testing ground who can still go on with their campaign with the chance of winning the nomination for their party. A caucus is just a meeting between candidates and potential voters. Any of those potential voters can attend one or more caucus and make their choices from there who they think more in line with their values, beliefs and convictions.

Clearly the system is broken when Huckabee and Obama emerge ahead of the pack. Both seriously flawed. Huckabee with anti-scientific religious notions and Obama with immaturity. We are in trouble as a nation.

Quick question: why didn't the Huffington Post or other major news sources online scream front-page headlines about the results of the Oct. 7 Des Moines Register poll, showing that Clinton had passed Edwards at 29 to 23 percent, with Obama coming in third at 22 percent?

And by the way, Obama's lead in the latest Des Moines Register poll is one point less than the last Washington Post/ABC poll, having decreased from 4 to 3 points over Clinton, which was already a statistical tie.

I get it that Obama is the darling of the extreme left, but must your coverage be quite so blatantly skewed in his favor?

Just remember: a month is a year in American politics. Iowa and NH are both over a month away.

Anything can happen.

They have BROWN and WHITE Forum last night in Iowa, when are they going to have a WHITE FORUM? Don't tell me a WHITE FORUM is racist! Caucasians must be heard too!

Obama is going to win the election, and John Edwards will be VP. Hillary Clinton will be Attorney General, and Joe Biden will be Secretary of State.

My dream, and I like it.

The real poll is AFTER the people cast their vote and it's counted. In Iowa, its a three way tie (Clinton, Obama, Edwards). If you're Obama supporter and you think Obama is the winner, start rappin'! Git jiggy wit it .......LOL

Obama better win Iowa, its his neighbor! He even bus supporters yesterday from Chicago to cheer him last night in Iowa. More than half of the audience last night in the forum were Obama supporters.

Iowa will be interesting because it's a test case for this long-held idea that black candidates poll higher than the votes they ultimately deliver.

It's supposedly 10 to 15 points higher.

The idea is that people are liars on race: they'll say they'll support the black candidate and then won't, given a private ballot. Their "inherent racism" (or whatever) comes out.

I'm not sure if I buy it. There were races in 2006 where it didn't hold true. Maybe it's an old truism that's all but dead.

Obama is my second choice, after Richardson, who for some inexplicable reason (to me) liberals didn't support, so that's why I'll watch Iowa: to see if there's a big disparity between polls and votes.

Useful information, I think.

Unless we change things dramatically, the sun is about to set for America. The grand idea, the great experiment that is America might be in its last throes.

With America bogged down in endless wars and primitive debates over the rights of gays, and who would be raptured and who left behind, and whether to buy an iPhone or a Nokia, the grand experiments and ideas on how to improve the human condition, and meanigful debates over what it means to be free are now occurring in other parts of the world.

Of course, only time will tell to where these new ideas and experiments would lead. After all, those are experiments.

Example:As Chávez's first 'socialist city' rises, a utopian vision takes shape - Boston Globe

No, I am not a Chavenista. Far from it. I am very skeptical of his recent moves.

But the fact that experiments are being conducted, and ideas to improve the human condition are being explored are by themselves signs that not the whole world has given up as America has.

A new world, a better world, is not just possible, it is on its way.

Just because our leaders and our Presidential candidates lack ideas and vision will not stop the world. It will only stop America.

To me, true patriotism is to reignite the idea that is America, to never let that idea fade, to never let that experiment end.
