Washington Post:

Former White House aide Karl Rove said yesterday it was Congress, not President Bush, who wanted to rush a vote on the looming war in Iraq in the fall of 2002, a version of events disputed by leading congressional Democrats and even some former Rove colleagues.

Rove said that the administration did not want lawmakers to vote on a resolution authorizing the use of force against Iraq that soon because it would "make things move too fast," before Bush could line up international allies, and politicize the issue ahead of midterm elections. But Democrats and some Republicans involved with the issue at the time said yesterday that Bush wanted a quick vote.

The Bloodstained Path
Dennis Kucinich, November 2002

Unilateral military action by the United States against Iraq is unjustified, unwarranted, and illegal. The Administration has failed to make the case that Iraq poses an imminent threat to the United States. There is no credible evidence linking Iraq to 9/11. There is no credible evidence linking Iraq to Al Qaeda. Nor is there any credible evidence that Iraq possesses deliverable weapons of mass destruction, or that it intends to deliver them against the United States.

When Iraq possessed and used weapons of mass destruction, quite sad to say, it did so with the knowledge of, and sometimes with materials from, the United States. During the Administration of Ronald Reagan, sixty helicopters were sold to Iraq. Later reports said Iraq used U.S.-made helicopters to spray Kurds with chemical weapons. According to The Washington Post, Iraq used mustard gas against Iran with the help of intelligence from the CIA.

Iraq's punishment? The United States reestablished full diplomatic ties around Thanksgiving of 1984.

Throughout 1989 and 1990, U.S. companies, with the permission of the first Bush Administration, sent to the government of Saddam Hussein mustard gas precursors and live cultures for bacteriological research. U.S. companies also helped to build a chemical weapons factory and supplied the West Nile virus, fuel air explosive technology, computers for weapons technology, hydrogen cyanide precursors, computers for weapons research and development, and vacuum pumps and bellows for nuclear weapons plants. "We have met the enemy," said Walt Kelly's Pogo, "And he is us."

Unilateral action on the part of the United States, or in partnership with Great Britain, would for the first time set our nation on the bloodstained path of aggressive war, a sacrilege upon the memory of those who fought to defend this country. America's moral authority would be undermined throughout the world. It would destabilize the entire Persian Gulf and Middle East region. And it would signal for Russia to invade Georgia; China, Taiwan; North Korea, the South; India, Pakistan.

The war was probably a done deal as of early 2002.

That was when we started diverting intelligence assets to the Persian Gulf from other theaters.
That's also when the media campaign started.

That's also when Bush said "F*ck Saddam. We're taking him out."

Clearly the republicans didn't get the message of the 06' election.

That doesn't mean they will not try to steal the o8'.

“Repeat a lie often enough and the people will believe it!” Joseph Goebbels

Rove read the novel "1984" as an instruction manual.

The truth is that the 'need' to go into Iraq was discussed as early as February of 2000 in cabinet meetings and at the security council. The former Secretary of Treasury, O'Neil who was at both, has stated this several times. The Downing Street Papers and several other sources all point to these neocon intentions.

Only GOP revisionists and troll apologists will refute this now. 9-11 was used as an excuse to begin the Crusade for Muslim Oil and the whole world knows it. Rove's talking points are just Bushit, to be repeated over and over by the willfully ignorant 27% who would trade their security for our freedoms.

Bush and Rove together remind me of those guys in that movie PORKY'S. Just a couple of red neck idiots, who spend more time shooting rubber bands at each other then understanding what the hell they have done to this country. They both belong in jail, along with Cheney, Rice, Rummy and the rest. But, alas, there will be no impeachment, no trials nadda! Because the other rubber band shooters are still in D.C. Why do you give this fat pig any air time. I cancelled my subscription to Nesweek the day I found out that Rove will be writing for them.

Rove has carried the art of lying to new hights. It is no longer lying at all; it is a simple perversion of truth and language to manipulate and deceive.

It is best to shoot someone in the back. Cheating is the name of the game.

If the ball hits the line in four square and you "play on it" then the games gores on. When HRC and the Democrats played their chicken game with Saddam, they knew he had no WMD. Scott Ritter told Bill Clinton a million times over. The Democrats were itching for a war to be "strong on terror." The MSM wanted it. Read history, mankind is a vicious, dishonest animal. They always want to be "true believers." It is a feel good thing. Like religion. Kill for God! Where have we heard that?

Send a message that you will not vote for war-mongers. Even if we lose the election WE need to stand on principle. Get the religious 'tards out of the game. Tax churches, they will go away.

Rove wants to stay out of jail so he is reminding the Democrats that they all knew better and still went to war. They are in on the crime with him. Send them all to jail. There were no WMD's. Did you really expect Saddam to nuke the troops? No, you just watched on CNN. Nice explosions. Watch the boys kick ass, yeah God, yeah, America!

So it's a lie? So what! This country has been ruled by lies for such a long time that truth here seems out of place.
Take these truths and think of the last time you heard them in our media:
(1) Israel is occupying land of her neighbors in violation of UN Resolutions.
(2) Israel is in violation of international law by establishing colonies on confiscated) occupied land.
(3) Israel is constantly violating the human rights and destroying the property of the people under her control as an occupying power.
(4) Israel's actions are in violation of international law.
(5) Israel's use of weapons given her by the United States against the people in the occupied territories is in violation of agreements under which those gifts were made.
(6) The billions of dollars in "aid" given to Israel by the United States is a violation of American law forbidding aid to nations which developed nuclear weapons as Israel, did (with American help!)
(7) The United States regularly vetoes any Security Council action regarding Israel's violations of UN Resolutions, international law or human rights.
(8) Israel is not a democracy, and expressly forbids any political action party to exist which calls for equality under the law for all citizens. It also declares its land to belong -- not to its citizens but -- to all the Jews of the world.
(9) AIPAC is the strongest (foreign) political lobby in Washington. (Can't we remove the word in parantheses?)

ETC., ETC.

But we can hear how good a friend Israel is! In spite of the fact that nobody can name one single material benefit the US gets from all the sacrifices (in money, in good will, in blood) we make for Israel.

But you -- of course! -- know that we went to war with Iraq because the Congress forced it on Bush in spite of Israel's pleadings that we not do it. And now we are being forced -- in spite of Israel's pleas for peace -- into war with Iran. Because we can't allow Iran to have nuclear weapons like Iraq had.

Republicans are the target. The less educated the better, albeit voters. Just say it over and over. It will soon sink in that the Democrats are evil despicable warmongers.

Rove is playing a dangerous game. Sinking into the mire is not a pretty picture. That would be Rove,of course.
Ruination of the Republican party is nearly complete. Our children have been sacrificed at the hands of these neocons who care nothing about them. The truth will ALWAYS float to the top.
