Imus escalated this controversy by making the "CRAZY" decision to go on Sharpton's show. Black people don't even listen to that show and the most popular black radio host in America ( Steve Harvey) has higher ratings than Imus had and he was defending Imus. Why not Tavis or Harvey ? Because Imus wanted people to focus on Sharpton instead of him but they both came out looking bad.

I mean how can he criticize hip hop and then use the same language? What does that say about his character and all of the people who defend him but pretend to be offended by hip hop? What's the difference between Imus and Snoop Dog?

He gave such a lame excuse for his behavior. Did hip hop make him call Contessa Brewer a slut or Nancy Pelosi a bitch? Please! He should have just apologized to the girls, taken responsibility for the words he used, and moved on. If people are upset that Sharpton was injected into this debate they have no one but their racist hero to thank for that.

For those that never followed Imus it is your loss. For those that watched and didn't like him, well I guess you knew how to change the station or channel.

Don Imus can be both contrite and defiant. He can be contrite only to with regard to his attempted humor insulted the Rutgers team and he had apologized despite his firing.

However, contrition stops there -- when rappers, music industry executives, and BET apologize for the millions of dollars they earn denigrating the women of their community, then Imus can be contrite towards anyone else.

Hopefully he is not muzzled and will continue to speak his mind and push the envelope.
