I want some magic underpants so I can fly up to planet Kolob and be a God with a hundred wives.

Honest to God, I thought I read that in the Bible some place.

Isn't that what JFK believed too?

Maybe that was Dan Quayle. Karl Rove thinks that Dan Quayle was the greatest President in the history of the United States. No, No, wait I'm sorry that was Ronald Reagan.

“The invitation to speak at the presidential library is not an endorsement of Governor Romney’s campaign.

-Kevin Madden, Romney for President campaign spokesman

And the Romney camp breathes a HUGE sigh of relief....

The Mormons are racist, find even one LDS church in the black neighbor hood. Are one black are Mexican on their 12 apostles are even a black or brown Bishop.

I think the problem with Romney he dropped the ball during last debate with his fellow GOP. He was my bet to be the nominee for the GOP, it seems huckabee might get it.

Romney is likely to repeat the conventional storyline line of the current LDS leadership on US and religious freedom. Contrary the verifiable facts of history and the experience of his forebears in the faith, he is going to sing the praises of religious freedom in the US. His is going to be one of the biggest (and most scandalous) instances of history changing verdict on very well established facts. Mormons, of all people, did not enjoy any measure of religious freedom. The Mormon Church survived only because, as Abraham Lincoln put it, “The Mormon Church is something like a wet log. You cannot split it, you cannot burn it. Too heavy; you cannot move it. The best that you can do is to plough around it.” Lincoln arrived at this conclusion after decades of concerted efforts to “split,” to “burn,” and to “move” the church. His opposing candidate, Stephen Douglas, still breathed fire and wanted to perform excision on the church and asked congress to provide the necessary cutlery.

Romney...mormon, cult religion believes in some mythical golden tablet found in forest in 1800's, would not accept blacks until recently, deny polygamy in public, but one cannot say what they practice behind closed doors, Huckabee, the theology expert, minister, dodged the question of what would jesus do on death penalty issue, with a joke, saying jesus would be too smart too run for political office, got a huge laugh from the right wing faithful, but then I guess they don't read the parable of the adultress often, since it clearly states what jesus would do on a death penalty issue, he surely did not dodge the pharisee's trickery..., both these hypocrites have as much chance of winning national election as a snow ball in hades..., they might win with their faithful right wing hypocrites who voted a idiot into office in 2000, 2004, but I think the rest of us are fed up with the political rhetoric on the right wings compassion, conservative, family values.., they give tax cuts too the richest 2%, denigrate the welfare folks as lazy, shiftless, deserving of their poverty.., wonder how that will fly with jesus on judgment day, I seem too remember a bible passage where he will not know those who ignore the poor, hungry, naked those sick and in prison....?

I want to know about that firey salamander that appeared to Joseph Smith and revealed God's word. Then there's the idea that Jesus has a thing about Missouri. Some people get arrested on drug charges for less or, at the very least, end up on meds.

Message to Mitt:

you will never be president of the United States, no matter how much you pander, smile, evade, change positions, get photographed playing touch football with your chickenhawk sons--or even if give a "very important speech" on the place of your Mormonism in your political life.

You're a lifelong member of a cult every bit as crazy as Scientology, Mitt. Maybe crazier.

You're real problem, though, is that your pitching yourself to people who are also in a cult--traditional Christianity. These people, who constitute half of the Republican party, think that older "miracles" are a lot more likely to have happened than ones that supposedly happened to a half-literate convicted con man just a century and a half ago.

Their belief makes no sense, either, but so what?

Christian fundamentalists will never, never buy what you're selling.

And even if they did, and you somehow became the Republican nominee, you would be crushed in the general election.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Mitt, but if you don't get all this you are truly delusional.

I doubt there will be much about the Mormon Faith in his speech. I have about 30 households of LDS members in my family, and I was raised Mormon until I was 4 yo. (when my Mother converted to my Father's religion.)
I haven't had any anti-gay reaction from anyone on my Mother's side of the family, they love me just as I am. That's why the rabidly anti-gay stuff the LDS leaders spew and their VILE politicians like Orrin Hatch spew, baffles me. If the regular Mormons are accepting of the LGBT community, what put such a bug up the a$$ of their leaders?
I don't recommend LDS for either women or African Americans, because of their HISTORY of keeping women subservient, and not allowing Black members until the 1970's (previously they taught Black skin was the Mark of CAIN.)
