John McLaughlin asks: Is the tedium over at last? Ha! Not by a long shot. Not when you can boil debate analysis down to this: "Yeah, uhm...Rudy Giuliani's attack on Mitt Romney TOTALLY paved the way for Mike Huckabee to garner enough momentum to elevate John McCain." Does that make any sense? Maybe Fred Thompson is onto something: by saying nothing, and doing even less--at least he cannot be blamed for what a mess everything has become. And, really, what will it take for Duncan Hunter to learn that no one wants him to be President?
At any rate: who will win the GOP nomination, McLaughlin panel?
Buchanan: Ron Paul, Huckabee, and Romney all gained momentum.
Clift: Huckabee has momentum. Will win Iowa. "Why not," she says.
Crowley: Romney won debate. Will win Iowa.
Buchanan: If Romney wins Iowa, he wins nomination.
Zuckerman: Oh hai. Not so fast! Florida on Romney: DO NOT WANT. Says Giuliani will win. Will bet "the amount of money he gets paid for this show." [I'm presuming that's probably nothing.]
By the way, if you close your eyes and listen to Mort Zuckerman speak, he sounds like Hermey the Elf from Rankin Bass' classic Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Which is fitting, since the GOP field is one big Island of Misfit Toys.
