CNN's Glenn Beck gave a longish interview with the Deseret Morning News, in which he describes a meeting with President Bush as leaving him "stunned and awestruck." In all likelihood, his level of "stunned and awestruck" is akin to the way my cat reacts every time I pour water out of a bottle - "Oooh! Shiny! Flowy!" - but, for the sake of argument, let's follow along:

"He is clear and focused, and there are no hems and haws. I would not want to sit across the table from him as an enemy. He said a few things that were breathtaking, and my immediate response was, 'Why are you not saying this?' and he explained. I can't quote him. All I can say is that he has Abraham Lincoln-honorable reasons ... he has chosen not to say certain things. But (the Iraq war) is going much better than people think."

The relevant citation, I believe, is John 11:35.

But the central takeaway, is that it's sad to see Beck, who stridently bills himself as a "conservative" not a "Republican" and who insists he's "strongly challenged" the President, preside over the collapse of his independent-minded worldview in a fugue of dumb fawning. And teasing his listeners with intimate knowledge of "certain things" the President has "chosen not to say?"

Agh. Just what the world needed: another happy-faced media "insider."

Beck is a total buffoon-that CNN keeps him on shows just how far that organization has fallen in its glory days when Ted Turner still owned and managed the company and now in its AOL/Time Warner or Time Warner ownership---I bet old Ted wished he had not sold out to that great company.

As I learned on Wikipedia, Glen Beck is:
1. A former Top 40 DJ
2. A former alcoholic/drug abuser
3. A former religious radio broadcaster.

From my few observations I would add:
4. A serial simplifier of topics
5. An opportunist
6. A snotty jerk

Are you even remotely surprised that he is one with the Great Decider?

There are "certain things" that I have "chosen not to say", which means you should be "stunned and awestruck" by me too.

Cool! I will add that along with "I take no responsibility for anything I did before I was forty" to my personal presidential purloined excuses for my own immorallity and obfuscation.

Who here cares about Glenn Beck? He is an idiot. If Ted Turner were dead right now, he'd be spinning in his grave about what CNN has become.

I guess you used to think differently? Y'ought to try ignoring TVnews altogether and see what you think, as opposed to watching TV news and being told what you think.

"Stunned and awestruck" I believe that when I read "FBI the story of J. Edgar Hoover", this was how Martin Luther King was described after meeting with Hoover who played the recordings he had from bugging the hotel rooms King stayed at. Hoover could have ended King's celebrity right then, proving adultery, plus other unsavory aspects of his entourage. Blackmail was Hoover's "ace in the hole" So, maybe what with all the wiretapping going on, Bush revealed something Beck would prefer to keep hidden? I find it difficult to believe that Bush can actually be coherent. If so, why does he always come off as the village idiot when he is on TV? There has to be more to this than we are being told. Plus, like his father claimed to be, I think Georgie is "out of the loop" in this WH. The powers that be find it simpler to keep him uninformed.

I'm sure both of Beck's CNN viewers will be impressed.

The way things are going at CNN lately, Mr. Beck will probably be promoted to program director. He can then really shout from the treetops all "intimate knowledge of "certain things" the President has "chosen not to say."

I think I will blow up the remote...sigh!

Beck is making an appearance at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. His 15 minutes is definately over.
