Britney Spears may have finally made a good decision. The train wreck, who hasn't done much publicity for her new album, "Blackout," besides her daily run to Starbucks to get photographed, has pulled the plug on a potential Rolling Stone cover, said an insider. Spears was close to signing a contract with editor and publisher Jann Wenner, to pose for the cover, but called off talks when the Wenner Media boss refused to promise her it would actually land on Rolling Stone instead of Us Weekly, said the insider.

A performer's image is their most potent tool and there is a huge difference between Us and RS in the minds of those that make decisions regarding the value of a performers product.
Say what you will about Britney, she deserves some credit for holding up under the barrage of withering attention from the howling dogs of celebrity news reporters...ugh..I hate to put the word "news" next to the word "celebrity" since it implies publicity is news.
By the way, the latest album is making great progress with an unexpected amount of appeal among the more savvy listeners who recognize high production values with a bit of fun-lovin' kink. Britney, you need an older man.

Rolling Stone or US Weekly? Aren't they pretty much the same thing anymore? Gonzo journalism gives way to Celebrity masturbation....

I'm tired of empty headed bleach blonds, they are a dime a dozen and not worth living with. Intelligence, maturity, common sense, these are traits that make a companion worthwhile. I wouldn't walk across the street to see Britney, Hilton, etc.

I watch cable news sometimes and I hear these idiots always say she is supposed to hide out, not go get coffee, not go to the beach, not do anything because the paparazzi are going to follow here. I think that's pure bullshit. Why should she give up her American freedom to go where she wants just because the media jerks want her to hide. I don't get it, why should she hide?

I hope this will be a trend for Brit. Apparently, hitting bottom may have finally wised her up.

Good luck, Britney.

Her life may be a train wreck. I hope she pulls out of the spin she is in.

But the album is great. She has a lot to offer, if she can do it carrying the emotional load she is currently under. I'm saying my Deist prayers for her, that's for damned sure.

I ask myself, everyday, when is someone going to speak up for these exploited children, that we see on Disney, and on other televisions shows.
They take them, use them, exploit them, keep them from their parents, and then when they are no longer cute kids, discard them with a clean conscience that now they can go out in the world and make money with the fame they were given, while Disney, and the others raked in the money, exploiting them.
Britney Spears is simply an ex-exploited child, like Michael Jackson, et.al, who cannot behave in the world because they were never given a chance to grow up, as normal children do; or should.
Britney, Michael and the rest never see the end of exploitation because now they become fodder for the press to make money, with the, oh so important news, of their misbehavior.

I have to say, I can't stop listening to the new CD. I feel dirty. And I like it.

They can't even promise what magazine it will be? What load of hooey. Sounds like a setup. Good call, Brit.

I'm not a fan, but I think there's been a concerted effort by the media to document her personal train wreck without mercy. So. Good for her on making a good decision.
