Now that the new National Intelligence Estimate suggests Iran shelved its nuclear weapons program in 2003, will the White House be moving away from its increasingly aggressive rhetoric? Not likely, if Vice President Cheney has anything to say on the matter. From today's White House press briefing with National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley:
Q: Second question. When did the Vice President get briefed on this? Because he was warning of serious consequences just last month, too.
MR. HADLEY: I've just got a note from him -- I did it once, I'll do it again.
We haven't seen the video -- could this be some kind of twisted joke?
Late update: Clarity from a reader. The second part of Hadley's statement referred to a separate, previously discussed topic. It was not a note attributed to Vice President Cheney.
