"High School Musical" Star Gets Nose Job: "I Had A Deviated Septum"

Huffington Post   First Posted: 3/28/08 Updated: 5/25/11

Ashley Tisdale

High School Musical starlet Ashley Tisdale had rhinoplasty procedure last Friday, she told People magazine. The surgery, she insists, was not cosmetic.

"Growing up I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing," Tisdale told the magazine. After a more detailed explanation of her septum woes, Tisdale added, ""I didn't do this because I believe in plastic surgery. I did this to help my health. I literally almost could not breathe out of the right side of my nose."

No word if the surgery will help her singing. She was clearly lip synching on NBC last week.

Here are pictures of Tisdale in New York last week and earlier, before she had her septum repaired.

I watch her with my Grand Children on the Suite Lfe on the Disney Channel. She is delightful to watch and with some more seasoning could become a very good situation comedy actor. My son had to have a deviated septum repaired also, it does have some effect on how his nose looks also.

What have you got against her. Has she done something or said something so bad that you have to be so negative against her? She is 22 years old and at the start of a career. What the hell have you done so far?

Who cares about her? Another no-talent hack from Disney.

I had surgery for a deviated septum a couple of years ago to correct a problem that was the result of having my nose broken in a fight.

up till that time, as a result of the break, it created a bernoulli effect in my nasal passaged that would cause nose bleeds. I, also had real difficulty breathing out the right side of my nose.

It doesn't appear that she has been in to many fights, but one never knows. LOL

There was nothing wrong with her old nose, it gave her face character. Now she just looks like any other acting wannabe.

I once was admitted on an emergency basis to a hospital in NYC that specialized in plastic surgery.

My problem was entirely gastric but the whole floor I was on was filled with teenage girls who had just had a "nose job."

Since I was about 35 at the time and a "Mom figure" my room was filled all days with these little girls who were all explaining that they had "nasal problems" which required the surgery. Yeah, sure.

I was laughing about this with the nurse and she said: "You should see the next floor up, it's all sex-change operations."

Then she told me some of the things that were being done on the "next floor up" and believe me, you don't want to know.

I recently had a deviated septum fixed also, only mine wasn't so blatantly obvious on the outside.

Just sayin'...

Next thing you know she'll get a boob job to give her lungs more room to breathe.

I had surgery to fix a deviated septum a few years ago when I was constantly getting sinus infections. The surgery did NOT change the outward appearance of my nose.

And the most common cause of a deviated septum these days?

Ka-ching! We have a winner.
