I always liked Van Ark the actress, not Van Ark the beauty queen. She never was what I would call a beautiful woman -- that would be her less-talented co-star on "Knot's Landing", Michele Lee -- , but she was always a reliably good actress. I'd like to know exactly who her friends are and why they let her do this nasty thing to herself. Geez Joanie, you should have let nature take its course and do character work, you would have had a longer career.
