The Lowdown On The UK Fashion Awards

The British Fashion Awards for 2007 were held last week, and while there was a lot to applaud and celebrate - the naming of Stella McCartney as Designer of the Year, for example - there was a lot that left me rather puzzled.

For example, why, oh why, at the most stylish event on the British calendar, were all the women wearing black tights? Why? Their legs looked like sausages, and they must have been really hot.
