President Bush plans to use the next two weeks to defuse fights with Congress over the economy, laying the groundwork for a 2008 strategy aimed at assisting GOP candidates early on and improving his image at home and overseas, according to two senior White House officials.

The emerging Bush blueprint begins this week with a preemptive strike on the mortgage crisis.

His makeover is too little too late. We all know by now what a tranparent, arrogant, ignorant, usless buffoon Mr Bush is. He gives new meaning to the word: vapid.

There is nothing more dangerous than living an unexamined life. Our president is an unaware, unconscious small man who lives his life within a prescribed and limited belief system. He has very little curiousity. This is his deliberate choice. And it is a choice to live in darkness. The man is evil. Anyone who chooses to remain in darkness is choosing evil.

Could they make him over into - oh - I don't know - Al Gore? Can we go back seven years and count the ballots? Can we bring all our dead soldiers back to life? Can we wake up tomorrow morning ala "Dallas" and have all this be nothing more than a mere nightmare?

In case anyone wonders if this is a pattern, let us not forget Neil Bush:

It's all fine that Bush's aids plan to make him over. These people must be miracle workers. I've never yet herd of anyone succeeding in making a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Too late, he blew his image the first time he opened his mouth. Been downhill from there. If it wasn't for being installed by PNAC goons he would be drunk and stoned on his ass and asking daddy for a few more bucks.....

Doesn't matter what the history books write about George if the planet is uninhabitable

Interesting that today, Senator Chris Dodd, chairman of the U.S.Banking Committee, wants Fed Secretary Henry Paulson to explain how it is that, while Mr. Paulson was head of Goldman Sachs Brokerage firm, that firm was selling investments full of sub-prime mortgage paper, then turning around and placing bets that those investments would lose value.

So this partly explains why Cheney was thrown out of the top level meetings and the NIE was released after a year of foot dragging.

The GOP is shifting gears for the election and wanting to make nice with it's voters. Too bad the mortgage initiative is another anti-conservative bailout in a lame attempt to be centrist. Bush may as well raise taxes as far as true conservatives will view this.

The legacy of the PNAC-Likud-interests + the-US-war-profiteer coalition that ruled the US for the last 7 years is quite clear:
- 3 trillion dollar increase in the National Dept
- Iraq destroyed and destabilized for decades to come (hundreds of thousands murdered, 7 times that number wounded and maimed).
- dollar in the toilet and getting worse.
- loss of respect for the country and the currency everywhere in the world
- constitution undermined.

Bush's contribution to that is just reading the prompter. Guiliani and H.Clinton are reporting to the same croud.

Everything Bushie has EVER done in his life, he's screwed it up and ALWAYS needed a bail out by Daddy. This is no different. Look for Daddy Bushie to be doin' some hard work in 2008 trying to keep the Repubic party from imploding.

Bush Makeover.... select one or more of the following:

1) cowboy outfit
2) jet pilot's jumpsuit
3) compassionate conservative facial expressions
4) kung fu master

Bush will use the mortgage crisis to divert public funds to business associates who claim to have a solution..... just like he's done on EVERY other disaster. The money will have virtually no strings and no oversight. Then (SURPRISE!!) billions will vanish while the 'contractors' start getting freedom medals from George.
