Sherri Shepherd

For whatever reason, the ladies on "The View" were discussing ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus this morning. Naturally, talk soon migrated to the topic of religion, and Sherri "I don't know if the world is flat" Shepherd came out to play. More specifically, to spew ignorance and a complete lack of understanding of basic world history! Discussing whether Christians were around during Epicurus' time (Epicurus lived from 341-270 B.C.), Sherri chimed in, "[The Greeks] had Christians 'cause they threw them to the lions."

When Whoopi tried to cautiously navigate her through the timeline of basic world events, saying, "I think this might predate that," Sherri responded, "I don't think anything predated Christians." Joy's attempt to explain the Greek-Roman-Christian chronology was futile, as Sherri insisted, "Jesus came first before them." Sherri's argument was all the more powerful due to her convincing "use your finger to write on the table" trick, but she can't fight the facts. Perhaps if Barbara were on today she would have explained THAT WHOLE B.C. THING (you know, as in, Before Christ).

Jesus must be rolling over in his grave with all the stupidity said and done in his name.

People like her are a problem for society. What's really scarry is that they seem to be increasing in number exponentially. The military has dropped it's intelligence requirements for recruits. What can be more scary then an ignorant person with a gun and a knife.

Somewhere, right now, there's an empty university chair, crying out of loneliness...

IF Sherri means that Christ, being the Alpha and Omega pre-dates Epicurus, then her point makes sense, since the belief is that is Christ is God, and so, exists outside of time.

Priceless! This story is too funny. I first read a blurb on Spindrain.com -- now see it here too.
It's nice when idiots are exposed.

Yet another example that the US is devolving into a 3rd world country. Just waiting on a revival of the textile industry as a result of reverse outsourcing.

This Big Mama just set us back about 50 years.

In the large cities (NY, Chicago) blacks have a 50% dropout rate (we have to fix this problem)...

...and 90% of these dropouts tend to vote democrat when they become old enough to care to vote...

..so 90% of the most uneducated sector in America votes democrat. This already makes the black community look ridiculous.

...and then along comes the Star Jones & Sherri Shepherd's of the country, making it even worse.

...I say bring back Star Jones...the pre-gastric by-pass-original Star Jones, that is...and thereby restore The View to it's original superior status; a showcase of substantive analyses and well-reasoned and succint arguments...

...ugh...

Poorly educated people and getting worse that is our lot in this country. The neocons want these people to populate the country, because they are so stupid that they will swallow ANYTHING.

Why all this picking on a Bible believing black woman by libs. I know you are already flocking to Hillary instead of Obama but come on. All conservative Christians believe Jesus is God and that God came before the Creation. Hence Jesus was there in the beginning. So Christ was there before any other religion. As I have said before I will not argue with a faith that was good enough for Dr. King and which helped spread equal rights to blacks in this country. Even the favorite of you libs Noam Chomsky while not a Christian, does not make fun of Christian conservatives because of the experiences he had visiting black churches in the 60s.

There is two types of ignorance:

those that don't KNOW about something and

those that don't WANT to know about something.

Sherri got "brainwashered" when she was

vulnerable and captive to her parents whims.

And GOD is a lousy excuse for one's IGNORANCE

of nature and science.

Okay, I'm late to the party and I'm not going to slog through the usual morass of faith vs fact. I'm just interpreting this clip as maybe Sherri meant to say that in her worldview, Christ is #1 and the Greek and Roman culture is secondary. Not that Christians existed first and the hell with everybody else. Are people really that ignorant.... I ask in a country that's seriously considering Mike Huckabee as our next GOP candidate for President.

It's amazing to me that in an effort to assemble a panel of differently-minded women to supposedly represent some of the differing viewpoints of American women, Walters has succeeded in producing two of the worst possible examples of the Right!!! First Hasselbeck running her mouth ad nauseum without, for the most part, having the slightest clue what she's talking about; and now this Sherri Shepherd fool?

I assume that the image Walters was going for was successful, devoutly religious black woman and her point of view.

What we've actually been given is a living, breathing stereotype. Placing this woman on this panel is about the most retrograde thing I've seen in years. My God. Glad I'm not a black Christian woman because I wouldn't want this buffoon speaking for me.

I mean, really Barbara Walters...WOW. Where the hell do you find these idiots?!
