With the strike keeping writers from producing new material and NBC running out of recent shows to repeat, the network has been airing vintage "Tonight Show" episodes over the last few weeks. On the "Today" show this morning, a commercial ran promoting tonight's guest...Chris Farley. It's not necessarily weird to hype guests who have died (Farley died of an overdose in December 1997). It is, however, weird to hype them as though they haven't died:

"Hang on for Jay's road trip. Tonight from Phoenix, with Chris Farley. Then on Conan, Jon Bon Jovi, Eva Mendes, and a Max shocker. Followed by an all new Carson, tonight!"

It just feels a little, well, strange, to hear, "Tonight Jay's with Chris Farley, Conan has Bon Jovi, and an all new Carson!" in one breath, as though they are parallel events. I'm all for resurrecting Chris Farley footage, but in this instance, NBC probably could have erred on the side of caution and actually labeled it "vintage footage" or "an interview with the late Chris Farley."

i'm with peepeeray (?), the creepy part is Carson Daly. Hope he's making good money, he'll have a hard time getting another gig.
