Mike Huckabee appeared on CNN to explain why he was caught by reporters Tuesday when asked about the newly released National Intelligence Estimate report on nuclear weapons in Iran. Huckabee had told reporters he was unaware of the new report. Huckabee explained to Wolf Blitzer that he had been too busy on the campaign trail to be briefed about the intelligence estimate. Later, during "The Situation Room," one CNN commentator suggested this was a sign he was not quite ready for the "top tier."
CNN pundit Jack Cafferty countered by arguing that this particular Huckabee story was a non-event. "You got to give him a pass on this," he said.

That's alright Mike, George didn't know the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite when he invaded Iraq.
Just get a good VP like Cheney and have him tell you what to say when the cameras start rolling.

What does Cafferty the "newsman" do? He gets paid $____ million a year to read email 6 times a day and act cynical. So that means we should actually give a s**t about what he thinks? I guess he's hitting the booze again.

Excuse meee! But isn't Huckabee's excuse the SAME line we keep getting from Bush each time he's caught lying: "I never saw the report..."? It's also the same line he's given as an axcuse on the parole scandal. Anyone else see what sort of 'president" we'd be getting out of this non-entity, panderer to the religious right who's only success has been as poster boy for the diet industry.

Let's give all our candidates a pass. They are not free to use intelligent intelligence. They must act and speak in conformance with the dictates of our dear friend, our only friend, our MSM controlling friend.
But if they were free and we were a brave, free people .......
or if this were a school exam, they'd get an "F"!

i would like to hear more about the story involving the release of the rapist whose cause was championed by the NY Post's Dunleavy The story involved a man who raped a distant relative of President Clinton . He had his life sentence reduced by then Governor Tucker but Huckabee released him for time served . The man went on to rape and murder two women in Missouri . Letters have turned up that show as many as six woman appealed to Huckabee not to release him claiming he had raped them and would do so again . Huckabee claims he never saw the letters but a former staffer says Huckabee did see them . I can only PRAY that this becomes HIS willie Horton case .
It would be NICE to see the media devote as much time to this as they do to John Edward's haircuts

Some folks in AIPAC must think that Huckabee is a candidate who will do their bidding.

Joe Biden's Comments:

"In October, when President Bush raised the specter of World War III with Iran because of its pursuit of a nuclear weapon, he knew that our own intelligence community had concluded months earlier that Iran had halted its weapons program in 2003.

This is as outrageous as it is irresponsible. It's exactly what he did in the run up to the war in Iraq in consistently exaggerating intelligence suggesting that Iraq had WMD while failing to tell the American people about intelligence concluding that it did not.

For many reasons, war with Iran is not just a bad option, it would be a disaster. So I want to be crystal clear on this: if the President takes us to war with Iran without Congressional approval, I will call for his impeachment.

The President's actions further undermine America's credibility around the world -- and the government's credibility here at home -- at a time when that credibility is at an all time low. And it injects more tension and instability into the Middle East at a time when we should be doing everything in our power to prevent that region from spiraling out of control.

Yesterday I gave a major address in Iowa outlining a plan to keep Iran from producing the material that could one day be used for a bomb -- without using force. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read that plan on my website:

This was reported in Amy Goodman's Democracy Now on August 10th, 2007.

"Cheney Urges Military Strikes on Iran
Vice President Dick Cheney is reportedly urging President Bush to directly confront Iran by launching airstrikes at suspected Iranian training camps inside Iraq run by the Quds force, a special unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. According to the McClatchy newspapers, Cheney made the proposal several weeks ago but the idea was opposed by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. On Thursday President Bush warned Iran that it would face consequences if they continue to arm and train insurgents in Iraq.

President Bush: "One of the main reasons that I asked Ambassador Crocker to meet with Iranians inside Iraq was to send the message that there will be consequences for people transporting, delivering EFPs, highly sophisticated IEDs that kill Americans in Iraq. Prime Minister Maliki is visiting in Tehran today. His message, I"m confident will be, stabilize, don"t destabilize. And the sending of weapons into Iraq is a destabilizing factor."

"Sen. Biden Suggests Criminal Charges Against Bush Officials
Impeachment has been making headlines recently in the city of Kent, Ohio. Democratic Presidential candidate Senator Joe Biden has suggested criminal charges could someday be filed against members of the Bush administration. In a recent interview with Newsweek, Biden said there are alternatives to the impeachment of President Bush. Biden said: "I think we should be acquiring and accumulating all the data that is appropriate for possibly bringing criminal charges against members of this administration at a later date."

Please note: This Iran war plans have been going on for a number of years which Joe Biden as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee is aware of, as well as the intelligence reports of the CIA which were actually made public 1 year ago after the Democrats took control of Congress.

See again Amy Goodman - Democracy Now. August 10th, 2007.

I disagree. I think that ALL our candidates
should a) have some kind of demonstrable
geographical knowledge, b) be pretty well-versed
if not involved in the current decision-making
as regards the war, strategy on deck for either
continuing or ending it, and being plain-spoken
about the agenda that they think is best, and
c) able to delineate some sort of rudimentary
policy on a lot of different issues. If you
really WANT the job, then by damn study for it,
or forget being nominated. Maybe instead of
asking 'who wants to be president' they should
be asking 'how BAD do you want to be President,
and do you think you have a pretty good idea
of what the job requirements might be'?
Being the next Guy/Gal in the Big Chair isn't
like getting hired on to mop the floor or be
a dentist, if you get elected, You Da Man/Woman etc. So, if you don't know where Russia is,
or have no concept of the history of Big Oil,
can't differentiate between the armed forces,
have no clue about how many people live in
our country let alone others, well these
are other intelligence gaps that might need
to be addressed. Maybe there should be a
pageant instead of primaries. We have a Miss
America pageant, why not a Presidential Pageant?
Knowledge is key, looks are secondary, money
is kind of an issue because of the royalty thing...
