It is hardly beyond the realm of reason to suggest that Bernie Ward was doing an investigative piece on the subject and that it could have been part of genuine investigative work. That is totally reasonable. The fact that he was once a priest should not have anything to do with this case!

As a child I was very involved with my church (the Roman Catholic church at that time) and new many priests, but I was never ever approached by a priest in an improper or sexual way. All this business with the priests is/was a terrible thing. Personally I think it is all because of the Roman Catholic views about restricting sexual expression, but I do not care to digress from my point. My point is that because one was once a priest; it should not condemn him.

I say we settle down and give Bernie Ward the opportunity to defend himself and the courts an opportunity to exercise justice. I for one am not the most confident of our current legal environment or enthusiasm to rush to judgment and I think that as a society we owe it to ourselves and our fellow citizens the decency to remember that man or woman is innocent until PROVEN guilty.

EXCUSE ME HE DIDDLES? Oh really he diddles...hmm. I am from the SF/OAKLAND Bay Area and I have been following this case. He diddles? OMG...outrageous!

Is it interesting how quickly and easily that leap was made? HE DIDDLES? I will tell you what Bernie Ward is. Bernie Ward IS innocent until proven guilty! SLOW DOWN PEOPLE! He is charged with federal child pornography charges, but that is all...nothing was said about him diddling anyone or with anyone.

Is there no room in our society any longer for the consideration of innocence? Or patience or generosity of that consideration?

Don't get me wrong like most fathers, grandfathers and gays, I am opposed to child porn. Pedophilia is a terrible crime, disease and curse on our society and anyone who trespasses and runs roughshod on the soil of our children's innocence must pay, but let us slow down and not be a mob, please and thank you.

I wish to be part of no mob!

Bernie Ward's support of Care not Cash is cruel. One needs money for job faxes, newspaper,phones,clean clothes, healthful recreation, pain needs,etc. No way do I mean Ward's alleged child porn charges relate to my blog.

As of Oct-Dec 05 Glide Church,Sfc is only Church giving breakfast,3 meals in whole city. Companies make you pay to use restrooms so one is limited in going somewhere. SF Rescue Mission on 140 Turk St., Sfc provides no restroom. First Prebyterian Church had no locks for their restroom. St. Paul's Church at 666 Washington Square,Sfc gives a Simple sandwich only. City Team on worst street in Sfc has supper T-S only. Disgusting! Courts ignored too including Wash DC Supreme Court,Docket 5833.

I quit evil jobs. I have grocery store owner signatures' stating they no longer take EBT Food Stamp card and Gov. Schwarzenegger did nothing about this in April 2004. Disgusting. Those of us who have been long-time, very loyal listeners know that Bernie Ward is a true hero. I am proud to stand up for him in his time of trouble. I don't believe I've ever known or seen another Christian that I so admire. He has helped so many over the years and I hope will go on to be able to do more in the future. I'm sorry that his investigation into the world of child porn for his book got him caught up in this mess. I pray that he gets vindicated and is back shepparding his "flock" on the radio.

HuffPo put a misleading at best, headline on this story, and most people posting seem not to have read the story.
What shameless smearing of a guy with very little to go to press with. He had a reason for having downloaded stuff, was previously cleared, for that and there's no new information. So just destroy the career and name for a guy who has earned his reputation for the past 20 years. Wow.

It's amazing that the only people that get the front pages are the people that hold some form of leadership.

It says the FBI seized his computer in 2005 and found nothing to indicate he was a frequenter of child porn.

He downloaded a few child porn photos in 2004, research for a BOOK.
