White House Mortgage Meltdown: Bush Gives Out Wrong Hotline Number

Harried homeowners seeking mortgage relief from a new Bush administration hotline Thursday had to contend with a bit of temporary misdirection from the president himself.

As he announced his plan to ease the mortgage crisis for consumers, President Bush accidentally gave out the wrong phone number for the new "Hope Now Hotline" set up by his administration.

And we're surprised ? Bush is such a complete failure on so many levels and tragically, with deadly consequences. He should be impeached if for no other reason then he is simply NOT QUALIFIED to be POTUS !

The good news is, this new "initiative" will affect so few homeowners that calls to the wrong number Bush gave out should quickly dwindle, as people realize they have been fucked over once again by this regime.

OK, Does no one else see that these "poor little homeowners" are just greedy SOB's??? They took the biggest mortgage they could get away with, at lowest interest rate available, to buy biggest house imaginable! They drove the whole market up, up, up -- so average human beings cannot afford to have a roof over their heads!!! Now they have to be accountable for their actions --- and chimp in chief wants to bail them out? Sounds like S&L bailout of 80s. Why help greedy fools?

I very rarely have time to post here these days, but it's just infuriating that THIS STORY (OMG, a wrong phone number!), is the HUGE headline on this site, when HuffPost should be screaming about Bush's lies and coverup with the new IranGate.

The irony of the Bush Presidency is that hardly anyone cares what he says or listens to him anymore. He has exhausted all of his currency, and most Americans just ignore him these days.
What we need to start doing is seriously planning for the aftermath. He has left us in a world of hurt, and while his incompetence and blundering occasionally border on the humorous, the consequences are far from it.

I for one am ready for fundamental change. Although, I also subscribe to the idea that there are very few new ideas. We just need to go back to the days when we cared enough about our fellow citizens that when they were old and without savings, that we engineered a plan to help them in their golden years. This "welfare state" as it has been described by the low tax corporatists, did get out of control in some areas, but it didn't go far enough in others. How is it for instance, that we still don't have decent health care for millions of children, and also lower middle class working families. How is it that we admire a Sam Walton who exploits his workers in order to monopolize the retail market? We gotta quit looking at that bafoon in the White House and decide what we are to become.
