White House Mortgage Meltdown: Bush Gives Out Wrong Hotline Number

Harried homeowners seeking mortgage relief from a new Bush administration hotline Thursday had to contend with a bit of temporary misdirection from the president himself.

As he announced his plan to ease the mortgage crisis for consumers, President Bush accidentally gave out the wrong phone number for the new "Hope Now Hotline" set up by his administration.

If you dial the number Bush gave out mistakenly, it leads to a company that provides school supplies for Christian home schooling. I am SO tempted to call that number and ask "Is our children learning?", to which the proper reply would be "Childrens do learn".

This is what you get in an unregulated market economy. The private sector uses every trick it can to squeeze every dollar they can out of your average hardworking American until the moment of crisis when the charade collapses under it"s own bullshit and then we the people have to step in and open the check book so that those same hard working American don't get screwed.

Puts me in mind of the S&L bail out in the 80's while Ronnie Raygun was running things, sort of. Wasn't a Bush neck deep in that shit storm? This Milton Friedman brand of unregulated capitalism is just too expensive; human nature is to imperfect to embrace such economic idealism. Republicans worship this man like a some kind of prophet. Ron Paul is now running around preaching deregulation of everything, sounds good until something like this happens, or some chemical plant pollutes your drinking water, or your 2 year old sucks on a toy covered in lead paint, than the so called conservatives wine the loudest. I have a conservative friend, a state trooper who complains constantly about the very taxes that pay his salary and provides his healthcare and pension, not to mention the unmarked car which he is allowed to take home as well as the gas that run it. My taxes pay Ron Paul’s salary, heath care, and pension to by the way; he has been on public payroll for more than 20 years.

Than theirs Grover Norquist and his subsidized, non-profit, Citizens for Tax Reform, which is a front organization for gaining access for corrupt lobbyist. These elitist clowns meet once a week to develop political strategies with the sole purpose to destroy every progressive program which emerged from the Great Depression.
