White House Mortgage Meltdown: Bush Gives Out Wrong Hotline Number

Harried homeowners seeking mortgage relief from a new Bush administration hotline Thursday had to contend with a bit of temporary misdirection from the president himself.

As he announced his plan to ease the mortgage crisis for consumers, President Bush accidentally gave out the wrong phone number for the new "Hope Now Hotline" set up by his administration.

Of course tha' Dubya gave out the wrong number. He's never been known for his grasp of detail, or his ability to remember things, like:

1) His granpa was complicit with Hitler and helped finance a steel manufacturer who made its products using Holocaust slave labor.

2) His poor business acumen while almost running an OIL company into bankruptcy (?!?!?!), and having to get bailed out when another company bought his company out hoping to cash in on the "Bush" name, to the tune of over a million dollars.

3) His brother's involvement in the Silverado Savings & Loan bankruptcy.

4) His other brother's involvement in a loan on an office building that was written down from over $4.5 million to $500,000, the taxpayers of Florida paying the difference.

5) His OTHER brother's involvement in a company that administers standardized tests to schools, while Shrub (W) was president and pushed for the meaningless, underfunded "No Child Left Behind" Act that virtually mandates all schools in the country to utilize standardized tests.

Just the tip of the iceberg, connected to a gigantic number of conflicts of interest in just his family, I'm sure. Not to mention the Halliburton, Blackwater, etc. conflicts of interest in connection to the invasion of Iraq.

It's all very, very disgusting, and this idiot should be impeached, indicted and imprisoned.

Here's my solution to the mortgage mess. I don't have a lot of sympathy for people that overspent and overbought but I have a little, so here goes: folks in mortgage crisis will get help if they each take a homeless person in and keep them there as long as they are getting help. If the throw the homeless person out they lose the help. If they get their mortgage paid off they may ask the homeless person to leave after paying a fee to the local homeless shelter. Want help? Give help.
