Harried homeowners seeking mortgage relief from a new Bush administration hotline Thursday had to contend with a bit of temporary misdirection from the president himself.

As he announced his plan to ease the mortgage crisis for consumers, President Bush accidentally gave out the wrong phone number for the new "Hope Now Hotline" set up by his administration.

There is No bailout !

Plan won't help : Dean Baker

"the core problem is falling house prices, not resetting mortgages."

This is a plan to keep the little guy in debt , more debt than the house is worth.

They will use the 2005 Bankruptcy Law to shackle people to debt. If they try to walk away they face years if not decades of garnished wages.

They know people in debt are more easily controlled.

Welcome to Republican supply side debt slavery, guarantor to the privately owned and operated Federal Reserve.

What I want to know is the following.

When will a democrat controlled congress start working on a social security fix? Greenspan says it's easy to fix social security, why do democrats refuse to do it?

When will democrats start working on a fix for Medicare. Medicare is a disaster and not so easy to fix, shouldn't they be working on it now?

When will democrats seal the souther board and stop helping business import cheap foreign labor and damage our nations own legal poor?

When will this democrat congress work on a national health care bill? Shouldn't they working on it now?

When will democrats start spending less than the republican congress and stop spending more? Shouldn't they be working on that now?

Why do you support this big spending, do nothing, failure of a democrat congress?

Of course, once again, it wasn't Dumbya's fault. The number provided to him came from the US intelligence community after a careful and thorough study and analysis using all available intelligence sources.

The final number was approved and signed-off by Never-Wrong Cheney.

THE Question: Are you better off now than you were 7 years ago?

Congress did nothing at all to try and help these people but Bush has and I wish he had not. It does not a thing but make people more dependent on the government which only benefits the democrats.

So whose number did the Moron-in-Chief give out? Jeff Gannon's? The Minn. Airport Men's room attendant's? Jena's?

What a pathetic fool.

This whole mess has barely begun. Next year wave upon wave of defaults will hit. We will see a few banks go under and we will see a dictatorial China telling us what to do to keep our nostrils just above the waves.

My wife worked for the FDIC for ten years following uncle ronnie's S&L bubble straightening that mess out. I heard about it every night at the dinner table. We naturally assumed that would be it, expecially after the young republican clinton shored up the treasury.

Since then we've nafta'd and walmarted most of our remaining middle class jobs to maquiladora/asia, leaving today's homebuyer some forklift jobs at distribution warehouses in places like San Bernardino and Bumf*ck Florida - you know, sophisticated folk who could really understand those creative debt instruments being pushed at them by the hordes of greedy mortgage brokers. Chickens are coming home to roost my friends, and this time we are less flexible, less able to work our way out of it - $100 oil, vulnerable service industries, collapsing public education, creaking agriculture, and at least two meatgrinding wars.

Tell me, what industry can generate a new bubble to make it all go away? How about diet and exercise? Should be a natural soon.

If Bush REALLY wants to help out the people, they should send every taxpayer a check, like they did a couple of years ago. Say, everyone who earns less than $200,000 a year gets a check for $2,000.
Sounds like a shitload of money?
Just suspend the Iraq war for a couple of days...

If this is so bad people, why is a democratic controlled congress voting for it? Gee, the democrats want to bail out the banks and the poor who should never have been given a loan then turn around and blame it all on Bush.

Congress controls the purse springs people, why is Hillary campaigning on a bail out? Why are democratic party candidates pandering bail outs? Why is a democrat controlled congress strongly behind bailouts?

Why do you people not vent your rage at your own party for doing what you CLAIM is wrong?

We know why. YOu have no real position on this, you just live to "bash Bush" and your words are meaningless.

As a certifiable MORON with a subprime mortgage, I'd like to thank our beloved president (one of my kind of people!) for saving me tens of thousands of dollars in mortgage payments. I can now use the money I save with my extended 2% teaser rate to play the lotto, get more booze and drugs and maybe even buy that 52" flat-panel HD TV I've always wanted.

Too bad for you suc'kers that have to pay full price on your mortgage. But if any of you financially responsible, high-IQ-types are having money trouble, just stop by - maybe I can loan you some of my savings at 20%!

Ha, ha, ha, ha....

This is the essense of compassionate conservatism as it has been defined by Mr. Bush's administration and its policies: Pretend to be empathetic, suck people in and once you've been empathetic, screw them over.
What a joke. And yet his level of support remains surprisingly high for his level of competence at 30%. Actually come to think of it, his support level is about ten times higher than his competence. Giordy

This Poll Is All You Need To Know About The Upcoming Elections!

#1 Issue For Voters = Iraq!

USA Today/Gallup Poll. Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2007

"Thinking now about the political parties: Do you think the Republican Party or the Democratic Party would do a better job of dealing with each of the following issues and problems? How about the situation in Iraq?"

Dems .......... 48%

Repugs ... 38%

Same Question Asked 3 Years Ago:

Dems .......... 37%

Repugs ... 53%

The hilarious part is that the repugs still think they can win a national election (with the current batch of clowns) with 8 million less registered voters and America favoring the Dems on all important issues!
