The coming Oprah phenomenon on behalf of Senator Barack Obama is already having a ripple effect on rival campaigns.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is sending Bill Clinton here to South Carolina on Saturday, the day before Oprah Winfrey arrives. The former president has spoken here often on behalf of his wife and has proved enormously popular with South Carolina voters.

And on a conference call today, supporters of former Senator John Edwards expressed dissatisfaction with Ms. Winfrey for coming here but not addressing issues like education, health care or poor conditions facing senior citizens.

It's ironic. Edwards is a guy building his Presidential run on appealing to peoples envy and jealousy.

With Oprah shilling for Obama, the other candidates will have a tough time securing the fat, white yenta vote.

For so much to be resting on the shoulders of Oprah Winfrey astounds me. It's a terrible burden for any one billionaire to have to bear. When did she start doing all the thinking for this electorate, and when will the electorate stop being a pack of lemmings following the lead of loudest voice or the biggest celebrity? Didn't GWB teach us this could be the direct road to perdition? People should start trying to figure out for themselves which candidate best represents their interests -- black or white -- and vote accordingly. How hard is that anyway? Damn!

There is an individual on this blog that states that we are worry about the election otherwise why talk about Oprah. The reason we are talking about her is that Obama cannot win on his own. It is okey if Michelle speaks for him (but since she only talks about his personal hygiene they decided not to have her talk) and instead he is using Oprah power to draw the blacks. This is a racial thing. As I have stated many times, I am black, so I am not being a bigot. He was not winning, and decided this was the best way. He flirts with her (you see this over and over on the stump) He wraps her under his arms(as if they were dating) and the idiot Oprah has fallen for this deception. She better make sure he wins, because her rating and her magazine was successful with "white" women. The majority of african american women are busting their buttes working and don't have time for the Marvelous Oprah and her talk show. If he was white and from her hometown, would she be so determined to have that person win?? No. She is using the division of race in our country, and we already have the division of parties why add more to the fuel. Yes, I hope to see a black man or a woman in the whitehouse. But, getting there should be on your own with your spouse. And getting there should be speeches that are yours-not the Kennedy's. We that have been in politics along time-know his copycat speeches.

"OBAMA PORTRAIT" Music Video on Youtube

For those of you who still have not heard:

There is a WONDERFUL and INSPIRING video on Youtube.com entitled "OBAMA PORTRAIT MUSIC VIDEO BY BJARNE O."

You can use the free downloaded high-quality stereo version from the composer"s website in DVD form to show at house parties. Even people who knew nothing at all about Obama have been moved.

The music soundtrack, which incorporates excerpts from the famous 2004 speech, can also be downloaded separately in high-quality.

I've shared this video with everyone I know. They've replied with tremendous gratitude. They're now sharing with friends and family and suggesting to send out as gifts for the holidays. Yes, great reception because this could be the greatest gift AMERICA could receive.

It is an uplifting and informative campaign tool.

So please, SPREAD THE WORD.

The South Carolinian and Edwards' camp reaction to Oprah's upcoming campaign help for Obama is curious. As Huffington Post and the original NY Times article state, Hillary is calling out her 'big gun' [lol], and daughter as well to counter Oprah's possible positive impact on behalf of Obama.

I cannot say I believe Oprah will swoon voters and send them wrapped and tied to Barack. In fact, I suspect Oprah will be the phenomenon she is in her own right, adding little if anything to Barack.

Voters seem to be more focused on simply selecting someone for the Presidency who is nothing like Bush that I'm not inclined to believe Bill and Chelsea Clinton will help to Hillary, and that the same will apply to Oprah-for-Obama.

In the end, we are all free to legally support a candidate we like. The fact that some of us are invited to stump for our candidate should not be a big deal.

ONE SUPPORTER of John Edwards criticized Oprah and the Edwards campaign issued a statement saying it was the ONE SUPPORTER's individual opinion and not the opinion of the campaign. Yet Huffpo like Drudge slants the headline deceptively, distorting the actual story from the NYT.

Does the editor of Huffpo understand the concept of ACCURACY?

So freakin' what?! Does Oprah have this country under mind control or something? Why is everybody flipping out because she supports this man?

As a Californian, I have no particular affection for any of the candidates of either party. They are stuck in Eurocentrism and 20th Century mindsets.

Obama may regret his association with Winfrey only because the perception of blacks for blacks will hurt his chance of a wider, more inclusive appeal. It appears that he has no idea who it is that actually shows up to vote come Election Day.

Edwards? Didn't help Kerry at all and still sounds like a young frat boy who could never be trusted to make an executive decision.

Clinton? Sold her soul for New York and the 911 emotional hype, yet has more experience in both the legislative and executive branches than any other contender.

Dodd's too old now, and more is the pity. He would have given Gore the White House had he been chosen as running mate. Biden, knowledgable but too long in the senate to provide real leadership. Kucinich, Harold Stassen.

Draft Gore. No one else comes close. He gets our role in the future.

"If you stand up for me in the Iowa Caucus, I promise to stand up for you."

-Obama

...Gee, where have we heard THIS before??? Oh yeah, ... he told that to the people of Illinois when he ran for Senator not too long ago. Meanwhile, Mr. Obama has the worst attendance record in the Senate because he is too busy getting himself elected President. Sounds like Bush -- another politician with little experience -- spending more time in Crawford than in The White House.

No matter how many attend to see Obama & Oprah, I'm sure it will be a better attendance record than Obama has in doing the job he was elected to do (by the taxpayers in Illinois. The other candidates didn't miss critical votes.

No thanks, I'm voting for John Edwards, the REAL ambassador for, 'real & honest change in America.'

celebrities are showing their true bias against the average American in this election-if they were truly liberal they would be supporting John Edwards, but they aren't-the corporate candidates are getting their money-if you look at Huffpo's celebrity contributions, they are rarely for Edwards-it appears that Hollywood is indeed very conservative and corporate-leaning.

I understand the point Edwards supporters are trying to make; the people of South Carolina wanted candidates to address REAL ISSUES that affects them like education, healthcare and problems senior citizens are facing. As Obama and Oprah goes from state to state, it is not enough to say he's president for change or he's the new hope for this country and his idealism; the people wanted to hear something more concrete than that. They want SUBSTANCE not rhetoric. Bush Jr. ran in 2000 based on rhetoric like Obama, their campaign is almost identical, look what happen to our country. Words are not enough, Obama must show his track why the American people must vote for him. He haven't said anything substantive, he's treating this primary election like a game, all he need is Oprah and the people will vote for him; if he thinks the American people are dense, he better think again.

I HATE OPRAH
I never could understand how she became so popular. She is a racist, who attempts to shape minds/opinions on her show.
If you don't like her endorsement of candidates then stop supporting her, stop watching her show and buying into the crap she spews on a daily basis.
