Huckabee Explains

National Journal:

Mike Huckabee in Greensboro, N.C. tonight tried to respond to concerns about his lack of familiarity with the National Intelligence Estimate. Digging a deeper ditch? You decide ...

Well, first off all it was kind of an ambush question. It came out at ten in the morning, I think it was late that afternoon and the reporter said: Have you read it? You know, George Bush had had it for four years, and he hadn't read it yet, so I don't really know that it was a big deal that I had not yet seen it and read it because we had been on the campaign trail nonstop. In fact I was saying to the reporters, you know the reason I haven't seen it is because you guys have been tailing me all day asking me questions.

Gen. Tommy Franks said of Douglas Feith that he was,

"the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the Earth".

.
What does that leave us to say about Mike Huckabee?

Not only was H.L. Mencken right when he said: "On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron"....but it looks like now all of 'em think they can run for pResident. :-|

So, he's not as bad as bush. Now there's a campaign slogan the repubs can get behind!

I especially liked it (thought it was VERY enlightening) when he was quoted by NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner-Treworgy as saying "
...the same intelligence agencies that told us that it was a slam-dunk, there were weapons of mass destruction, it would be no difficulty taking Iraq, were the ones who issued this report...".
"it would be no difficulty TAKING Iraq"?????.
Like any country lying around is fair game for the taking, as long as it's a slam dunk. Even to a lazy repugnantkin Huckster it's obvious that W didn't invade Iraq to "free" the Iraqis, but, rather, to "take" it, so that he could deliver control of their oil to the ruling party..
It's disgusting what comes out of these people's mouths.

Awwww, you guys are being a little hard on the Huck. I think he makes a good point. After having the most ignorant, under-educated, completely moral-free president for 7 years, lets cut the Huckster some slack. Bush has lowered the bar so low that any republican must be saying to himself, "No matter what I say, no matter how many times I put my foot in my mouth, well hey, at least I'm not as dumb as this guy." What I find so interesting and so troubling is that some of them seem to be following Bush's lead as far as technique, sound bites, and fear tactics. In other words, they are picking up the mantle and taking advice from the least popular president in history.

Do I have this right Huckster? You are saying you want to be preznit too and you will be no better then the current resident of the whitehouse. You do not need to read anything because the decider doesn't read. I have news for you there huckleberry GW's rating is less then 30 pecent copying his method of governence is surely not going to get you into the whitehouse.

"So it's interesting to me that a lot of people who have now pilloried the intelligence community for that report that said Iraq would be a slam-dunk are now heralding this report as being the gospel truth. Well we can't have it both ways."--Hucklebee Finn.

Well actually we can. Your repuke friends Shrub, Darth Cheney et al, have had four years to fix the intelligence communities, Mike McConnell et al are your boys, so we either assume they're doing better and believe them or we don't and chalk it up to more Bush incompetency. In either case Huck, you're fucked.

Huckabee could have said something dignified and perhaps even presidential such as, "Neither I nor my staff have been briefed on the new NIE and I won't be able to answer any of your questions until I receive that briefing."

But instead, in typical conservative republican fashion, he bitched and whined and whined and bitched and moaned and moaned and flopped down on the ground and threw a tantrum and held his breath until he started to turn blue then rolled around screaming until an aid ran over and handed him an ice cream cone.

.

He's already proven himself qualified to carry Bush's mantle:

1.) Lie

2.) Blame Bill Clinton

3.) Lie again.

4.) Blame the media.

5.) Go back to Step 1.

Huck can't campaign and read what's happening in the country at the same time. Sort of like Ford being unable to walk and chew gum at the same time.
