Employers added a solid 94,000 jobs to their payrolls in November, the unemployment rate held steady at 4.7 percent and wages grew briskly, encouraging signs the nation's employment climate is holding up in the face of turbulence in the housing and credit markets.

The fresh snapshot of the labor market, released by the Labor Department on Friday, showed that hiring was brisk in education and health services, retail, professional services, the government and elsewhere. That helped to offset job losses in construction, manufacturing and financial services -- casualties of the housing slump and credit crunch.

"Strong?" What a con! Every month the U.S. population grows by about 150K and 150K new people enter the job market. That will keep you even. In the eight years of the Clinton administration job growth averaged 221,000 a month. Thus far the Bush administration has averaged 57,000. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors going on here which I could explain if I had an extra hour.

totally unrealiable info.
Jobless claims last week were still over 300K, yet because there was a slight dip in new numbers, less than 20k, it got reported that jobless claims had fallen, when the real story in human lives is over 300K still looking for work.
Trust nothing this admin says.

Completely misleading data, folks. Employment shifts (lay-off in one sector and some hiring in another) NOT GAINS, seasonal hiring and more out-sourcing (U.S. companies hiring abroad).

Nothing to see here but statistical bullshit.

Move along.

SOLID GAINS???
In what world?

The US needs about 150K new jobs / month just to keep up with population growth. Clinton AVERAGED about 250K new jobs per month for 96 straight month.

This post is a crock.
