Oprah

On Saturday in Iowa, Oprah Winfrey took the stage at an Obama rally to speak about why she is endorsing Barack and why it is America needs him as president. In front of a full house of roughly 18,500 people, Winfrey spoke passionately and directly about the candidate who made her, for the first time in her life, feel compelled to hit the campaign trail.

The event was part of a weekend dubbed "Oprahpalooza," during which Winfrey will make campaign stops not only in Iowa, but also in New Hampshire and South Carolina on Sunday with Obama and his wife. In South Carolina, the Obama campaign was forced to move the event to an 80,000-seat football stadium after running out of the 18,000 tickets originally made available.

Watch Oprah speak about her first ever presidential endorsement.

Fox News

Though she didn't mention Clinton directly, Oprah did address her criticism of Obama--that he lacks experience--with a strong statement that judgment is more important than experience.

Fox News

As an example of Obama's wisdom and good judgment, Oprah pointed to the way he stood with conviction against the Iraq war from the beginning. The comment got some of the loudest applause of the afternoon.

I would love to see Obama and Kucinich run together, and Oprah could be Secretary of State. Throw Pelosi/Reid out. It's going to take special people to mop up the Bush/Cheney/Pelosi mess.

Ok, the Hillary plants/trolls are all over the place tonight seeding...
I understand why Oprah feels compelled to come out in support of Obama. I feel the same way. You would have to be blind and deaf not to recognize Barack Obama is a very special person and a unique political figure in the present line-up of Democrat candidates. He is the only one who can galvanize and unite this country as president. The right man at the right time to clean-up the mess left behind by the worst administration in U.S. history. He is the one. Not polarizing, oportunist, flip-flopping Hillary who has demonstrated with her Iraq and Iran votes her poor judgment.

I admire Oprah for her integrity.

She is an icon, a sensation, and a billionaire.

She doesn't need to involve in this race for any personal gain.

Her action speaks to itself--she is simply to act upon her conviction.

Here's another example of "Obama's wisdom and good judgment":

He appeared at a march in support of illegal immigration organized by those linked to the Mexican government and Mexican political parties.

Maybe one of Oprah's fans can ask her about that.

I have nothing but respect for Oprah and even though I am an Edwards supporter I admire her. I will vote for whomever the Dems put forward for prez.
