A Staggering Sight

The New York Times:

It was a staggering sight. Upwards of 29,000 people at a political rally. And the Democratic primary in South Carolina is not until Jan. 26.

The Double O Express -- Oprah for Obama -- drew what is easily the biggest crowd at a campaign event, for any candidate, so far this season. It may have helped that the day was unseasonably warm, above 70 degrees, and gorgeously sunny. But this size crowd is rare even for a general election in the fall. (JFK drew about 35,000 for a Labor Day rally in 1960; get to work, Caucus readers, and tell us if you know of a bigger campaign rally without an incumbent president.)

I do not care what anybody says. Oprah and Obama gets 30,000 people to come and hear a speech is unbelievable. This sound more like a movement. This is far beyond an election. People are listening and responding. No one goes out in to bad weather in Iowa and miss their favorite show. No one in America go out on a nice day with 70 degree temperature to hear a speech on Sunday. Well we go and hear are Pastor preach the word!!! They went after church to hear a speech. America, America this is a movement.

You state your a Christian and I hope you'll obey the Lord. The First Amendment states,"No one religion shall be established and no LAW made to interfere with worshiping God." Yet the Welfare Reform Bill of 1996 Time Limit prevents Christians,low-income families and workers,violent and abused children,veterans,old people,aids victims from needs programs against longtime evils.

I quit evil,corrupt jobs as a white Christian discovered the scarce few food,jobs resources in US and got after rent only $12.00 a week on GA. I could not afford to go to Church with such little money and my Religious Freedom violated. I presented it through all the Courts including Wash DC Supreme Court which all refused. I presented the fact one needs to move to another state to obey the Lord and find work. I presented all people of different races who are discriminated against need Safety net programs as Welfare and Social Security since finding work will be difficult and imagine our Wash DC Supreme court,Docket 5833 refusing my case in 1997. You have a lot of work to do. A Good Man is one who contributes much good to society since all the comforts he enjoys he received by others efforts. He is a distastefully self-centered man who ignores the poor,suffering, the struggling. Therefore I neither approve of him nor respect him. i'm not crazy about the chronological way Huffington sets up its responses to their postings. for example, cuthbertallgood has written many worthwhile responses connected to this article, but you have to dig hard to find them. i know that finding an alternative way to list would not be easy, maybe impossible. It's so frustrating to read through all the rants and insults just to get to something good. thank you, cuthberallgood for being more than that.

BIG DEAL - they would come out for Mickey Mouse
if he were appearing. What's happening here
is this election is being packaged as
entertainment. The Debates are hyped with
slogans - "the gloves come off," and "slugfest."
Questions such as "what Halloween mask will you
be wearing this year?" That was the exact
question asked by one of the plastic anchormen
"hosting the event." There are no real debates,
where IRAQ, HEALTHCARE, GLOBAL WARMING, THE
ECONOMY are discussed in depth in a series of
Debates - where each issue is given 2 hours.
Instead we have these absurd, empty debates,
with sound-bite limited answers. And hyped up
events that DO NOT ADDRESS ANY ISSUES, and
idealistic, unrealistic statements are made.
Obama said, he would "raise the minimum wage
each year." He knows he is lying, he knows
he could never do that, and to even say it,
shows now naive he is. We should be demanding
real debates on real issues.

Again, please defend the fact your a Christian and not a Moslem since people are wary of this fact. Surely you must have proof you can show us that your really a Christian and not a Moslem trying to sneak into our Presidency.

Additionally, you'll have a lot of work to do as I mentioned above since Cato Institute,Wash DC lied tremendously about a study they did about the homeless which apparently was taken into consideration to put in the terrible Welfare Reform Bill of 1996 Law Time Limit. Cato Institute now wants to privitize Social Security they liars they are.

Cato Institute said the homeless get money equal to $8.00 a day for a secretary and other greatly exaggerated money amount that the homeless are given. Elliot Liebow states in his 93 book of homeless,"Grudging and meager money is given to homeless." I quit evil jobs as a Christian and one got only $12.00 a week on GA. You come across so good and positive. Other candidates have failed in having gotten us into a wrongful War with Iraq. All the signs and features were there for us not to go to War in Iraq. You,Senator Barack Obama, also smartly were against this Iraq War that is a miserable failure. There is never any good when thousands die and are tortured. We need a smart leader to prevent wrongful Wars and prevent domestic terrorism here in America.

One fact though,Senator Barack Obama, please defend your Christian faith more. Surely, you must have proof your a Christian. You went to Church or gave to the poor. They'll be a lot of work for you to do. Florida no Welfare. Shorttime shelters. Other cities no Welfare. Compassionately and decently we need humane leaders. This failing moral picture of not caring for the poor is a bad example for young people to see. We must teach compassion not unjust merciless punishments for people. We must teach love not War. Jesus' taught the Law of Love.

I wasn't following the primaries in 2003, so excuse my ignorance, but honestly...

What happened to all the Gephardt and Dean supporters after Kerry won the nomination? Did they just "go away" on the blogs or did they continue to insist that Kerry was horrible, the worst choice, the end of America? Or did they suck it up and support the nominee?

I don't think that Obama should really consider a ralley held with the big "O" should be a campaign bulster. From the way I briefly heard her some of her comments they were empty and it sounded like she was the emcee of a celebrity event. He would do better to go on his own. Frankly I find it offensive that he would even accept her offer to hold such an event. I think it just goes to show how shallow his campaign really is. Lets face it you fill a stage full of celebrities and just about anyone will show up. As I have said from the beginning Obama is all "show" and no go.

oprah did promote and defend the war on two of her shows. she promotes bill oreilly, armstrong williams, the donald etc. clearly she loves authorian men. she also promoted cathie black(married to an ex cia guy) who publishes popular mechanics. right before she published the issue debunking possible 911 coverups, she replaced long standing editor in chief joe oldham and most of the staff so could print her swill in peace. these women are examples of tools for this admin. obama's got some nefarious ties to a guy by the name of rezko in chicago. do a google. we could get punked. obama wins the primary and deep into the election season they release the dirt on rezko. it is very damaging info.
