Appearing on Fox just might be the smartest thing those two guys never did. Being called out by Chris Wallace is a plus to any campaign these days. Now all we need to solidify a democratic win in November is for O'Reilly and Insanity to make a big deal about their refusal to show.

Every Democratic Candidate actually has appeared on Wallace's show except for Edwards and Obama - both of whom Karl Rove described as weak and easy to beat in November. In fact, Rove said if either of them were nominated then he could guarantee a Republican President in November of 2008.

Hum....

Yes, they should boycott FOX NEWS, as should all the Democrats, but they should also make a concerted effort to let people know why.

Just about every conservative and a lot of moderates have been convinced by a 20 year drumbeat of right wing propaganda that the mainstream media has an intentional left-wing bias. And it hasn"t been that hard a case to make. That"s because the typical conservative or moderate already has an intuitive feeling that s/he"s watching or reading someone more liberal than they are. They pick it up from dialects, inflections, terminology, body language, sometimes substantive content, and all sorts of other cues, subtle and obvious, that the person they're reading or watching is different than they are -- New York, Hollywood, Washington liberal elite different. And they're not entirely crazy. The preponderance of journalists are in fact politically left of center, not right. That"s not in dispute.

But what these people don"t understand, and they need to have explained to them, is that there"s bias, and then there"s BIAS. There"s a fundamental difference between the bias of individuals that leaks out of any human enterprise, a bias which mainstream media does its best to blunt with policies that enforce (with admittedly very uneven results) journalistic standards and practices that at least aim for objectivity, on the one hand, and the FOX brand of institutionally packaged BIAS that poses FOX in the disguise of a legitimate media outlet no different than its competitors (other than the direction of the political point of view), while in fact its the product of an intentional confluence of demographically driven business model and Republican politics. The instructions that the FOX broadcasters get to propagandize and electioneer using prescribed jargon and talking points is exactly the opposite of the instructions their peers on other networks get to filter such herding stimuli out of their presentation.

The counterpart to FOX is not CBS or MSNBC, it"s Pacifica, the only difference there being that Pacifica legitimizes its advocacy by making no attempt to pretend it"s presenting a mainstream view.

I see no reason for any Dem to appear on Faux Noise at any time on any subject or for any reason. Skroom.

Fox is an adjunct to the Guiliani campaign. Would Guiliani appear on a video produced by the Edwards or Obama campaign? Why should they appear on his?

Fox's intention of delivering misinformation to the American People should not be encouraged by the appearance of Edwards and Obama.

Why would anyone think for even minute that Barack Obama or John Edwards should or would appear on Chris Wallace's show on Faux Newzzzzzzzzz..
It would be a complete waste of time, it would give the network and its puppet way more attention than they deserve. Glad for ABC's sake that they finally got rid of Chris Wallace. He kind of droned Nightline right into the ground..
And none of the out-of-touch zombies that suck up the kind of droll repugnant venom that spews out of Murdoch's MSM would have a sensitive enough ear to hear any of the messages that Obama or John effectively deliver..
Waste of effort, waste of time, and giving more attention that is deserved to the undisciplined, unfair and unbalanced. Cheers to Obama and John for ignoring Wallace and Fox.

When the MSM smacks down Barack Obama in his Dean Scream moment,
John Edwards will offer his hand to help him back up and together, the tag
team from Camelot will whip Hillary and wipe out the GOP token opposition.

Edwards/Obama 08! and on! The tag team from Camelot!!

Chris Wallace is the silver-spoon scion of Bill Leonard, a corporate moonchild. He has always served his masters desires. No one inside the Beltway is unaware of his prejudiced approach to what Faux News calls balanced journalism. In the course of dozens of hours of interviews with right wing politicians - particularly those in the WH - he has only asked one tough question, which he allowed the respondent to dodge. Contrast that behavior to his famous interview of President Clinton which quickly degenerated into a partisan attack.

He has no credibility. He has no integrity. He simply reflects what is wrong with this country. Sorry, Mike, that's the way it is...

And if Obama and Edwards WERE to appear on Fox, I bet there wouldn't be a "do you still beat your wife?" question to be had. We all know that regular watchers of Fox just want to know what these two candidates stand for before they make up their minds how to vote. Yeah, right.

Plus, Chris Wallace is a second/third-rate talent. Some things just aren't in the genes.

Hey Chris,
Everyone knows what your show is all about. That is why people don't want to go on your "fair and balanced" network, and especially YOUR show. Please, they had the balls to say no thanks to your republican slant. I applaud them for not wasting their time.
Who watches your show anyways???

I didn't know Obama and Edwards were courting the coveted white trash/Dick Cheney demographic.

Obama and Edwards have every right to boycott FOX news or Chris Wallace in particular and he has every right to wonder why. Even though the answer may be out there, it is unlikely he would choose to look, let alone repeat it.
