Huckabee Won't "Recant" His Call For AIDS Quarantine

This morning on Fox News Sunday, former governor Mike Huckabee acknowledged that he previously advocated quarantining AIDS patients, but said he would not "recant" from that position.

In 1992, Huckabee wrote, "If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague."

This morning, Huckabee first tried to deny his comments. "Chris, I didn't say that we should quarantine," he said. In fact, he said we "need[ed]" to isolate AIDS patients.

Pressed repeatedly by host Chris Wallace, however, Huckabee relented. "That is exactly what I said. I don't run from it, I don't recant from it. Would I say it a little differently today? Sure, in light of 15 years of additional knowledge and understanding, I would."

I think the ideal video campaign ad which will truly expose Huckabee is of the late child whom was named Ryan White, whom was treated terribly, as if some modern day leper, a 10 year old boy who got HIV via a blood transfusion, just the boys image and a ad stating this is whom Huckabee and his ilk if they had been in national power 15 years ago would have ordered this innocent child into quarantine, yes Huckabee has baggage, and ones past does reflect ones true nature, and what they are capable of, Huckabee is popular with the republicans only, and is unelectable nationally, if the rapist scandal does not sink him this latest exposure as a heartless, ignorant fool will....

Huckabee saying "some of my BEST friends died of AIDS", adds patronizing INSULT to his original HEINOUS injury,

Stating he recommended placing AIDS patients in CAMPS.
The fact he also recommended CUTTING AIDS funding, meant he wanted us out of sight and to DIE QUICKLY wihout meds. I am living with AIDS since 1985, I lost my lover in 1990, and a dozen dear friends.

Huckabee presented himself as the Republican jester, and no one gave him much serious thought. Now that he is leading in Iowa, his past is being scrutinizd, and Chuckles Huckabee is being revealed only slightly different (in degree) than Fred Phelps who protests AIDS and Hate Crimes funerals, and recently Iraq War veteran's funerals.
