Funny, but bin laden said the same thing, except that he wants to take amurica to allah.
The Huckster can sell some snake oil, but he can't raise cash to save himself.
In the highly unlikely event that he makes it past Iowa and New Hampshire, he simply doesn't have the money to compete in Super Tuesday...and then what...a prayer circle?
"Take this Nation back for Christ"
Good idea, don't elect or re-elect ANY republiCONS in '08.
JOHN EDWARDS IN '08 (the republiCONS worst nightmare)
Drudge has a developing headline of:
"Within the DNC, Huckabee is known as the 'glass jaw -- and they're just waiting to break it'... Developing...DEMS HOLD FIRE ON HUCKABEE; SEE 'EASY KILL' IN GENERAL ELECTION "
Which is what I said this past weekend on the "Huckabee Wanted AIDS Quarantine" thread on 12/08, attempting to explain his out-of-the-blue skyrocketing polls while not raising any money or doing anything noteworthy beyond espousing Bible thumping rhetoric.
Huckabee is being propped up by the MSM establishment. He has no real support besides the Evangelicals, which aren't large enough in number to nominate the Republican candidate.
Somebody asked where these Poll Numbers came from. Has anyone guessed that they probably came from the same place the 50.5/49.5 Bush/Kerry breakdown came from?
These "Poll Numbers" are likely the "Creation" of Reality that Karl Rove is fond of. They could very easily be manipulated to "prove" that Huckabee is a viable candidate. There are probably "no people" behind those figures.
By creating a tension between Huck and Hillary, America might simply be left with only one or the other. Anybody smell any Rockefeller money behind them, besides me? Or maybe the TexoChisto Mafia?
The Evangelicals are more threatened today than ever before. We'd all better "Pray" for an Obama, or Biden, or Edwards...or somebody else. Almost ANYBODY!
Brick
Pleeeeeeze, no more candidates who believe they have a mission to get this nation aligned with their personal view of a christian nation. "We the people" not need Huckabee!
....haven we had enough of the 'Christ in my life'.....'God will lead the way'.....Family values hucksters?????....this is why the founding fathers wanted NO PART of any type of theocracy and declared fredom OF and FROM religion......
....cant we see what religion in government is doing to the countries in the Middle East???
...the first REQUIREMENT to run for and hold public office in this country should be DISAFILLIATION with from type of organized religion ( or UNorganized,as the case may be )....
....just look at what the 'born again' who is in office now has done for us......
Guys, let's support this fundie wacko so that he's the rethug nomeninee for pres. He'll get the 25% of the vote (co-fundies) he deserves and the dem can take the remaining 75%. Talk about a mandate from the people!
Peace through impeachment!
Mark
Just the chance that someone might vote for him is a good joke IMO. How stupid must a potential voter be to even consider this idiot? I have learned the USA has religious freedom, but faith, belief, whatever has to be kept separate from politics.
When jesus floats in, ends the war, jails those that put us in this position, makes pat roberson marry someone named bubba. Until that happens I'll still support a president over a delusional pastor.
"BACK?"
F that!
Hillary has 10,000 flying monkeys looking though every speech Huck ever made and holding him responsible for what he said in 1989, almost 20 years ago, yet Hillary doesn't want to be held responsible for things she voted for this year, like war with Iran. The Kyl/Leiberman amendment.
Huckabee is a medieval pre-enlightment (separation of church and state) theocrat:
Do we want this as our president?
Scary!
quote from Huckabee at the 1998 Southern Baptist Convention Pastors Conference in Salt Lake City:
quote
---------
"I didn't get into politics because I thought government had a better answer," Huckabee said in explaining his move from the pastorate to politics. "I got into politics because I knew government didn't have the real answers, that the real answers lie in accepting Jesus Christ into our lives."
Huckabee told pastors the ultimate solution for a nation slipping into crisis is faith in Christ. "There's not one thing we can do in those marbled halls and domed capitols that can equal what's done when Jesus touches the lives of a sinner," he said.
