Janice Dickinson Defends Hewitt In A Bikini As Healthy: "Tyra Banks Is Fat"

The Today Show is not one to miss an opportunity to show off the Jennifer Love Hewitt bikini pictures.

They continued the streak today by inviting Janice Dickinson, the self-described first supermodel, and discussed whether a size 2 is fat. Janice defended Hewitt, called her "healthy" and "not emaciated." She continued, "You want to see someone who's fat, I'm sorry, Tyra, Tyra Banks is fat." Banks used to be Dickinson's boss in the early seasons of "America's Next Top Model" and has herself been the subject of unflattering bathing suit photos.

After she was confronted by Al Roker about the remark, she sort of backed off, but it's unclear if she was being genuine.

Banks looks great and shouldn't worry about what shallow people in the image industry think of the shape her physique should conform to.

Sorry, but I find girls who have ribs sticking out to be nasty. I guess the new look nowadays is to have arms with the circumference of a pin, and to look like a coke addict. Funny thing is, nobody actually looks like that, but want others to look like that.

Janice is a prime example of a woman who got by on her looks - and once those fade, she really needs to just move on down the road.

Is her face for real now - or did she have some bad plastic surgery?

Who cares what slutty Janice Dickinson (ugh!) thinks about anything? Tyra's got more class in her ample behind that Janice could ever hope to have. This kind of cattiness is a symptom of some severe unhappiness and maybe even a little jealousy. Time to find something worthwhile to do with your life, Janice.

I've always thought JL Hewitt was just another vapid Hollywood type, but I don't think she deserves to be made out as the new Shamu on network TV. She looks like a real human, not a stick insect. Real people have a few pounds on their frames, and I think she still looks attractive, as does her fiance, obviously. He must be someone of some substance - no pun intended - to see her as lovable, even if she is better upholstered than she was a couple of years ago. I was underweight until I turned 35 and adopted a child; then I began to look like everyone else, and I wouldn't have wanted to be seen on "Today" in a bikini. Shame on NBC.

Janice was out of line with her comment about Tyra Banks. Her point about JL could have been made without putting someone else down. Can we all bring it up a couple of notches and be more caring in our speech and our actions? The tongue cuts deeper than a sword. Just because one thinks something, doesn't mean one must say it. Especially if it is hurtful and serves only to kill, steal or destroy.

I read *somewhere* that fashion designers insist that their models be super thin because the models are walking clothes hangers. There ya go. They want the clothes to be on parade and the models just walk around displaying the clothes. So it's nice for the models to be able to make beaucoup bucks for maintaining super-thin physiques ... but at some point they need to eat a sandwich. Tyra is a good example of someone who has managed to give up the matchstick figure for a decent meal. Now if she'd just learn to do an interview that doesn't come back to *her* all the time.

Let's remember that Tyra has made/is still making a very good living (modeling career/reality show) perpetuating feminine beauty ideals like having a thin body, pretty face, and perfect-looking hair. So, if Janice Dickinson calls Tyra fat, she's saying it from the same (hypo)critical position Tyra herself dishes out to her reality show contestants.
