When Red Sox ace Curt Schilling spoke on behalf of Sen. John McCain in Manchester Wednesday evening, he said something that should resonate with all of us. He observed that too often elections come down to which candidate we dislike the least. "Our country deserves better than that," he said....

...America deserves a candidate -- and a President -- we all can believe in. This is the greatest nation in the world. It deserves a leader who can restore our faith in America as a nation of great people led by great men. Only John McCain has the proven ability to do that.

Doesn't matter. Ron Paul is going to make his stand in NH and win that primary easily. McCain hasn't a chance.

New Hampshire is McCain's last hurrah.

Then he is headed for the Old Vets Home.

The guy LOST his way a long time ago.

Do informed voters really pay any attention to endorsements?

Personally, I could care less that some newspaper or celebrity endorses a candidate. I believe I am quite capable of making my own voting decision.

People who are not capable of making their own decisions, and are influenced by a newspaper or a celebrity shouldn't even be voting.

JOHN EDWARDS IN '08 (the republiCONS worst nightmare)

The Revival Tent Republicans will never forgive McCain for calling Jerry Falwell "an agent of intolerance" and implying that their brand of social conservatism would not be acceptable to him in the 2000 election. Furthermore, they are furious at him for his role in the "Gang of 14" that broke the impasse of appointing Federal judges. These snake handlers within the GOP will not compromise in their goal of taking over the court system and while McCain let some of them on, they demanded all of these exteme far right judges be appointed.

Despite their Biblical rhetoric, the social conservatives are not a forgiving group. And while McCain's somewhat western libertarian views would play well in the Northeast, Midwest and the West, he would not ever be able to win the primaries in the South.
