The latest New York Times/CBS News poll finds voters give the presidential candidates positive marks on at least one score at this stage in their campaigns: They credit them with spending more time explaining what they would do as president rather than attacking their opponents....

...Hillary Clinton was viewed as running the most positive campaign of the leading Democratic candidates. About seven in 10 Democratic primary voters said she has spent more time explaining, four times the number who said she has spent more time attacking.

Hateful attack ads work in this country sorry to say. I am not a Hillary supporter but she may win in the end if she just keeps campaigning and not getting dirty like some of the D's and most of the R's with the exception of Huckabee who is a nice guy but we don't need a pastor in chief .

Wow a positive story about Clinton. Not only that, but the in the accompanying picture she didn't look old and lumpy. What gives HuffPo? Someone let this one through by accident?

Yep, Yeap, Ya, yeah, I mean no way!

The most negative has been Hillary(democrats) by a long shot.

Madrassa, Kindergartin, Naive, Inexperienced, Not black enough, 9year old foreign policy e.t.c.

Do I see a positive story about HRC at Huffpo?

Mark your calendars!

And do I read a bunch of people attacking her without any actual reasons stated? Ho, hum. No surprise there!

Edwards/Webb '08!

I've followed this campaign fairly closely through the speeches, interviews and debates and I recall the Democrats avoiding going negative for some time. With Senator Clinton's twenty plus lead in the polls, her opponents had to do something to close the gap. Finally, Edwards made sharply unfavorable remarks about Clinton. The Obama campaign then also chimed in. Clinton did not join in yet but maintained a steady positive campaign respecting her opponents and speaking of issues. The shrillness of Obama and Edwards prompted a comment from Richardson that the others should desist from hammering Clinton. They didn't and the constant battering by them, the "gotcha" attempts by the moderators, the constant drumbeats of fear by the Republicans, hatred issued by the right wingers collectively brought her poll numbers down. She finally was compelled to respond because of the success of the continued unwarranted abusive remarks. Her negative criticisms of her opponents were a necessary reaction, not an action. After the ads and remarks she made in defense, she gets bludgeoned for "going negative." Without her retaliation, her poll numbers would have continued to slide. Indeed, even so, they may still continue on a downward slope. It is much to her credit she tried to stay positive, but with her lead all it got were charges she was already conducting herself as though she had secured the Democratic nomination and was running in the in the general election mode. She is a fine candidate and I'm delighted with her hopeful message and performance.

She spends the most time explaining her position? She explains nothing, which is why nobody can tell us anything she definitively stands for.

Out of the Democrats, the least negative campaign has to be Joe Biden's or Dennis Kucinich's.

For heaven's sake, who did CBS/NY Times poll? Helen Keller?
