Sean Penn delivered a speech at San Francisco State University, the text of which is here. Towards the end of the speech the president of the College Republicans stood up, faced the audience and held a few protest signs. He was then confronted by a Kucinich supporter.

I thought Sean Penn and the people in the audience
showed a remarkable restraint. What kind of treatment
would a Dem protester have received at one of Bush's
"town hall" meetings? Hmmm?

Such arrogance by that boy, to attempt to deprive Sean Penn of his right to freely express himself, and to deprive the members of the audience of their right to peacefully assemble. Such a fascist little republican boy.

He should have thrown a pie at Penn's mug. Libs approve of that type of "free speech".

The guy holding the sign was President of the College Republicans of San Francisco State University.

His name should be submitted to the nearest Army recruitment office.

Time for Operation Yellow Elephant to show this chickenhawk chump the way to Iraq.

That idiot college Republican should be drafted and shipped to Iraq.

I was glad he was there, revealing the fear Republicans have of Dennis Kucinich, the only real Democrat in the race.

Notice the fat campus security guy - he only wanted to grab the guy who who challenged the disruptor, not the disruptive college pig fucker Republican.

I am surprised as well, that Sean didn't ask why he hadn't joined up and gone to Iraq to defend America from it's enemies.

AND then Sean should have given him a piece of paper with directions to the nearest enlistment office with an offer to pay for the cab ride there.

That would have shut up the little asshole.

I guess my first response is total wonderment. Sean Penn knows that Dennis Kucinich has as much chance of becoming POTUS as he has of winning an Olympic gold medal in weightlifting. Say what you have to say, Mr. Penn, but come on! While I respect Rep. Kucinich, supporting him changes nothing.
Next, how can anyone take this moron protestor seriously? If this young man is taking full advantage of a university environment and learning critical thinking and allegedly maturing as a person in an academic environment, he's wasting someone's time and money.
His sign, admonishing critics of this war as 'supporters of our enemies', is childish, at best. It reflects nothing beyond the most banal in thinking.
Come on, son! Is that all you got?! This kid has brought the proverbial water pistol to an axe fight.
Some advice: Young man, you're in waaaaaaaaaaay over your head and pay grade. If you really feel this convicted about this war, you don't belong in an auditorium holding a sign, you belong in a recruiters office, signing papers and showing the conviction of your beliefs. But, I understand that it's a lot easier supporting a war from the safe and comfortable confines of a San Francisco auditorium than actually taking up the fight shoulder to shoulder with people who actually 'walk the walk'.
You appear to be more 'jawbone' than 'backbone'; a very Republican characteristic.

Sean Penn shows great restraint in ignoring this little chickenhawk. How come this defender of freedom isn't fighting them over there instead of holding a sign over here?

That was great. He didn't disturb anyone, just made a peaceful, silent protest. Unfortunately, that Kucinich nazi assaulted him, but I guess that is to be expected. Sean Penn did a nice job as well. A great display of free speach all around actually. A controversial speaker being protested by a controversial campus group and no one was disruptive and no one got hurt. The left wing could learn alot from this.

Before you criticize Penn, keep this in mind. Under current laws/Executive Orders, he could be picked up at any time for being an "enemy combatant." And still he continues to speak out. How many of you are willing to do that?

This guy must be special.

A mall, an assault rifle.
Who knows.........

Watch this guy. A Republican at SF State
with home made signs thinks he's making
a heroic stand.

He's a freak.

And if it was me, I would ask the guy to wait
five minutes and then step outside for
a discussion.
And then I would stomp his ignorant, arrogant
guts out.

At least Penn didn't have to stand by and watch a Kid get Tased and beaten and incarcerated for being rude and stupid.

What, you mean they didn't have to sign a loyalty oath to be admitted? What's up with having these traitors allowed into a free and progressive forum.
