Talking Jesus Action Figure Sells Out At Walmart

If you were planning on getting a Talking Jesus Action Figure this Christmas (or whatever) you're almost out of luck. Walmart has completely sold out of the toy and Target.com has "very limited supply," according to the manufacturer's spokesperson, Joshua Livingston.

"We feel blessed that the toys are now in the hands of thousands of children, teaching them the word of God. We knew that the toys would make great Christmas gifts, but to see them sell so well before the Christmas buying season begins proves that parents want alternatives in the toy aisle," says Livingston.

Since when does a Jesus toy teach the word of God? We've heard a great deal about religion in politics these days, and a lot of people bashing the Muslims. But let's get real. If you look at the more mystical religions, Eastern philosophies such as Buddhism, or the New Thought faiths, they teach unity and acceptance of all people as one. We don't get into division and judgment until you get to Christianity, and then it abounds like snow in December! I've met many who feel as I do. I will never again refer to myself as a Christian. The name has become synonymous with backstabbing, anger and greed. I guess now it will be synonymous with Barbie's Religious Playhouse!

It infuriates me that the "White Man's" image of Jesus is of a White man with a Hollywood coiffure. He wasn't, and he wasn't sand-colored, either, in spite of the fact that he lived in a sandy part of the world.

Nor did Jesus teach "religion". Religion is something we invent to explain what we do not understand and / or what we fear. It is something for which we build Golden Calves to honor, and call them mega-churches and various other euphemisms.

Love, respect for life and environment, faith, and all of the other undisputed "good" things we sometimes reflect are things that are either in us or they are not. They do not exist in churches or in any organization that is little more than an aluminum money tree.

Wal-Mart and its little Plastic Jesus. Great pair!

Could it be fastened to the dashboard? I don't care if it rains or freezes as long as I have my plastic Jesus setting on the dash of my car. The glue would have to be strong. A plastic Jesus freed by a crash could hurt. Another service by the egg nostiks & athe assedes in the USA.
