Speaking at a town hall event here Monday night, John Edwards said that he has been aggressive about ending the war in Iraq "from the very beginning."

His statement came in response to a question from an audience member, Janey Meyer, who asked Mr. Edwards to clarify his foreign policy experience and suggested that he hasn't emphasized it enough as a candidate.

Very soon now, America will set aside the celebrity-type candidates--Obama / Clinton-- and the kool-aid drunk phonys--McCan't, Judy Ruliani, Twitt Romney, Huckelberry and Watergate-Fred, take another look at Ron Paul, realize that if we really want to distance ourselves from the  Cheney / Bush-League pack of criminals and liars, and that phony-Pelosi is the one that must be Impeached, then we'll vote for JOHN EDWARDS as having THE BRAINS, THE GUTS and THE COMPETENCE to a degree the 59 million that voted for the LITTLE SHRUB IN '04, and that the Londen Daily Mirror embarassed us with their headline front page: "How Can 59 Million Be So Stupid", then we'll get it right:  "IT'S THE CONSTITUTION, STUPID !"

I hope Edwards did not say this because he is not telling the truth. He voted for the war when he was in the senate.

Des Moines, IA (December 11, 2007) – The Biden for President Campaign announced the launch of its new television ad, “Action,” which will begin airing across Iowa tomorrow. In the 30-second spot, Sen. Biden asks Iowans to cast their support for a candidate with proven leadership, experience, and most importantly, action on the biggest challenges facing our country.

The ad points out that while promises are easily made, Joe Biden is the candidate with the longest record of promises kept. The Biden Plan for Iraq has received the bipartisan support of over 75 U.S. Senators, not to mention scores of Iraqi leaders, foreign affairs experts, and other public officials. And when Pakistan erupted in a state of crisis several weeks ago, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf called Joe Biden first—not President Bush. Sen. Biden concludes: “You don’t have to guess what I’d do as president. Just look at what I’ve done.”

“If Iowans believe campaign funds and celebrity will fix the debacle in Iraq, put the economy on track, and provide health care and education for America’s children, they should support another candidate,” said Biden for President Campaign Manager Luis Navarro. “But I’m confident that Iowans know what I know: our problems will require experience and leadership from Day One. Empty slogans will be no match for proven action on caucus night.”

The Title of the article is very misleading. It makes Edwards sound just like Bill Clinton. However, when you read the article, it is totally clear that he didn't say "I opposed the war from the beginning". Just like Al Gore never said "I invented the internet". I know this blog is prejudiced in favor of Hilary Clinton but Come on!
Let's just try a little harder than this to be fair okay?

You have a problem with the experience issue in regards to Senator Obama. Obama started in career in the Illinois state senate in 1996. In those years following up to 2004, he CO-SPONSORED a significant ethical reform, death penalty, racial profiling and health care reform. In just his three years in the U.S. senate, he passed a major ethical reform bill and a nuclear proliferation act all while working under a Republican majority!

What did Hillary Clinton do her 7 years and John Edwards do in his 4 years of elected office? They voted for the China Trade Act, voted for the Bankruptcy Reform, the Iraq War, and NAFTA! I do understand that Edwards apologized for these votes but there is a point some where down the line where you are near incompetence. Don't you think?

TIS NOT THE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE BUT THE QUALITY OF THAT EXPERIENCE THAT MATTERS!

BIDEN: Per NBC/NJ’s Carrie Dann, Biden becomes the last of the six Democratic campaigns playing in Iowa to go up on TV in the state. In the ad, Biden speaks directly into the camera and says, "Being president isn't the same thing as running for president. When this campaign is over, political slogans like 'Experience' and 'Change' will mean absolutely nothing. The next president has to act.” He then touts the bipartisan approval in the Senate of his Iraq plan and that he spoke with the Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf before Bush did after Musharraf declared emergency rule earlier this year. “You don’t have to guess what I’ll do as president,” Biden says to close the ad. “Just look at what I’ve done.”

John Edwards is the Democrats best chance of taking back the White House.

If John Edwards can win the Democratic nomination it may put some of the red States in play for him such as NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS and LA. Neither Clinton or Obama have a snowballs chance in hell of carrying any of these States.

If you add just a couple of these red States for Edwards it would negate Karl Rove's plan to have the CA electoral votes split.

Being an Independent in one of the red states I see that in my State at least many of the people who are presently registered as RepubliCONS were formally Democrats, and you may see many cross the line and vote Democratic since they can't get excited about voting for Romney, Huckabee or Guialiani.

Having lived in the south all my life I know that unless the registered Republicans are excited about a candidate they will either cross party lines, or they simply won't vote which would be good for the Democrats either way.

I know quite a few Independents such as myself who have re-registered as Democrats to vote in the primary, but will change their voter registration back to Independent after the primaries. The vast majority of Independents I talk to overwhelmingly support John Edwards.

JOHN EDWARDS IN '08 (the republiCONS worst nightmare)

Edwards is a joke. Fake, his experience in foreign policy. One term in the United States Senate? He is a medical malpractice lawyer, they give a shit about your case if your case can do something for them.

Pinnacle of his career has been "I made a mistake"

Biden has foreign policy experience and most importantly is not a polarizing candidate.

Another day, another Edwards hit piece in the NYT. The BS that passes for new in that rag never ceases to amaze me.

It's VERY clear that he meant "from the beginning of his campaign". Let's not forget that he's talked about being wrong in his vote

Riddle 4 U ?

Q) What do you get when you cross Mike Gravel's Fortitude, with Dennis Kucinich's Tell it as it is, and Barack Obama's Time for a change, with Bill Richardson's Compassion and integrity, plus Chris Dodd's Service ethic, and Joe Biden's Wisdom, without Hillary Clinton's Triangulation???

A) John Edwards.

Like his hair or not.

John Edwards is the best choice of President of our beloved Country, make *NO* mistake about it.

If you believe We, the People need a paradigm shift, he's the only choice.

Like it or don't, John Edwards is the only Democratic candidate that can win in the general election, and is the *Only* candidate that will stand up for *We, the People*. The other Democratic candidates that would, will not win the Presidency.

Don't be fooled again!

Wishing things were different...Will not make them so.

John Edwards understands true meaning of "Grace".

Support the change of America's direction, support John Edwards for President.
