AP:

The founder of the Minuteman Project, the anti-illegal immigrant group, endorsed Republican Mike Huckabee on Tuesday, while Huckabee dismissed a presidential rival's immigration criticism as the work of "the tattletale in the third grade."

At a news conference hastily arranged to cope with a crippling ice storm, Huckabee brought out Minuteman head Jim Gilchrist, whose private group patrols the Mexican border on its own to keep out illegal immigrants.

Huckabee just claimed he has the best education record? Arkansas was 49th or 50th in education during his entire tenure as Governor.

We do it ON PURPOSE!!!
We tell the truth, just to make you look bad!!

The "they do the jobs Americans won't do" crowd has a tendency to leave off the end of the statement.

Illegals do the jobs Americans won't do...FOR THOSE UNDER-THE-TABLE LESS-THAN-MINIMUM WAGES.

Illegals are dragging down the wages of entry-level, blue collar, and labor jobs by working for a pittance of what an American would do it for, leaving Americans unable to compete for jobs.

Repubs are SO willing to be lead around by the nose. The only reason why they're currently 'outraged' by immigrants is they were TOLD to be outraged, like they were told to hate France back in 03. Hate stokes the RNC voter lists. Everyone knows as soon as the election's over the issue will evaporate, only to return next election cycle. Looks up the word 'dupe' in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of a rural Republican voter.

"Bring me your huddled masses yearning to swing from our telegraph poles and pick our avocadoes?"

Oh, don't fall for this game anymore, people. Think a little: Karl Rove does not always have to be right.

The game is, "divide and conquer." Did we not learn anything at all from the Gettysburg Address?

It's what presents you a "presidential race," more than a year too soon, consisting of: a 'white' 'woman' versus a 'black man' with a loud-mouthed New Yorker tossed in for spice. A real race? Hardly. A distraction. A carnival show.

It gives us (with sincere apologies to Dr. Seuss because he had nothing to do with it): "red state, blue state." "Lib'rel, conservative." Even, here lately, "North, South."

Ike was right. And, Lincoln was right. We are engaged once again in a contest to determine if our form of government can pay its bills and "long survive." That question won't be answered by our press, nor by a vicious lying drunkard.

It will be answered by every one of Us. All of the more than 320 million "We, the People of the United States."

What we continue to accept, is precisely and no more than what we shall have. Or as the case may be, endure. We have, on a single piece of vellum, all we need to bring it aright. As our forefathers did, so we must again do.

Soooooooo tired of hearing all you bleeding hearts tell me that illegals do '' the work that most Americans won't do''.
That's Bush's line.
And now Huckabee's.

I want my tax dollars to be spent on Americans - for healthcare and education.

Illegal means - NOT LEGAL.

Illegal Immigrants :
The Pilgrims
The Puritans
The Quakers
All left England illegally.
The Republicans have become what England was in 1776, eliteist who define legal as them and illegal as everybody else. The issue is the death grip International Banking has on the Nation and the NeoCon Nazis trying to take control of the Government, but the Republicans can only pick on the poor & the helpless, so they are making immigration an issue.

Sorry, HuffPo leads to feed the salivating masses once more. The candidates are discussing and debating the ILLEGAL ALIEN issue because IOWANS of the Conservative persuasion make it the number ONE issue - Numero Uno.

Here in NC the government estimates the ILLEGAL population at about 300,000. Most people on the streets realize this is BS of the highest order. Groups that track this issue believe it approaches 700,000 PLUS. Most construction crews, to include State Project Contractors, are made up of ILLEGALS. It is a NATIONWIDE issue that will influence politics, economics, and cultural issues for decades to come.

Them Republicans.....they gotta hate somebody. If it ain't the gays and wimmen, it's gonna be Mexicans.

Republicans, united in hate. Those neocons sure know how to herd "the base". Just find something they can all hate together.

Clearly, the reason immigration is being made an issue is so neocons can once again dupe the Republican Americans. Otherwise, a sensible solution would be found and the issue wouldn't be turned into an emotional hot button.

What are these Spanish sounding names? California, Tejas, Nueva Mexico? Land robbed from Mexico is inhospitable to Mexicans. Why don't we close off legal immigration to Europeans for awhile and open it to Mexicans? In the spirit of past immigration, they're the ones willing to work hard anyway. Why not? I'll tell you why not: their skin shade isn't light enough.

This is the most dubious of endorsements. First the "Minutemen Project" is at best loosely organized. Second, the endorsement came from "the founder" of this group. Third, this group has just about zero political influence. Forth, so who cares?

Would it be possible to have all Republicans deported? I would like to suggest sending them to the north pole; of course they get life vests.

It is anti ILLEGAL-immigrant fervor, not anti-immigrant fervor. Get it right and stop trying to use the "your a racist!" card every time you get into a debate.

And when I say "you", I am applying it to anyone here who actually thinks that this headline is remotely accurate, or any of the yahoo's that immediately started spouting off about Republican's all being racist fascist's.
