AP:

Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks in an upcoming article, "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?"

The article, to be published in Sunday's New York Times Magazine, says Huckabee asked the question after saying he believes Mormonism is a religion but doesn't know much about it. His rival Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, is a member of the Mormon church, which is known officially as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jesus is a Democrat.
Satan is a Republican.
This is news?

People that hope for a "good Christian" in the White House do so because they think he (almost certainly "he") would be more trustworthy, decent and kind. They get their images of Christianity from Christmas cards, Advent calendars, etc. I wonder if it ever occurs to them that the Founding Fathers envisioned a separation of church and state a mere two generations after the Salem witch trials.
The Inquisition was still terrifyingly underway in Europe.
In other words, those children of The Enlightenment had REASONS for setting this country up the way they did.
To the yodels who just feel they'd be more comfortable knowing their president wants God back in the governing business, I can only say, "be careful what you wish for".

The Republicans are not here to create disorder.
They are here to protect disorder.

Here we are in the midst of a war of choice bleeding us dry of human, natural, and economic resources; we're making enemies where we need friends, squandering political and diplomatic capital with both hands, enduring the most inept scandalously venal dangerously authoritarian presidency ever in the history of the republic, and there are Presidential candidates of a major party seriously discussing whether or not Jesus and Satan are brothers. I have to wonder what's worse: the candidates who descend into this kind of foolishness or the voters for whom this is a legitimate issue. Every scoundrel who has ever run for public office must be laughing his ass off just as the founders are spinning in their graves.

I thought America was voting for a president, not an ecumenical patriarch. Huckabee should recuse himself from the election.

Geez, Huckster, don't Baptist ministers believe, "Thou shalt not bear false witness"? You've been lying your ass off about setting that rapist/murderer free.

Get off the crazy Mormon's butt for a few minutes and take care of your own insanity.

The mudslinging now begins in full force, on both sides. You will see only one civil candidate focusing on the real issues, Ron Paul. Frankly,I hope the others bash themselves into the dustbin of history, they are so tiresome and predictable with all their false partisan promises. They have no consistent grounding in ideas of government or economics, will flip-flop and pander to grab as many votes as possible. Wake up, America, to their empty rhetoric that shares only one theme in common: government can and should do everything. Wouldn't it be nice for once to have a real life-size human being for president instead of some slick automaton with an ego the size of the world?

More evidence that I don't understand current politics. How is the slight variations in two candidates' worshipping of imaginary figures relevant in their quest for the presidency? I'd say a more disturbing fact is that in the face of a $9 trillion debt both candidates promised to never raise taxes. If you're interested in making Huckabee and Romney look like fools (an incredibly easy task), that's a much better place to start.

How is it the tories are sussed out every night on Huffpo and elsewhere, but the Democrats in Congress or running for president awake each dawn just as clueless as the day before?

Do either of these so called Christians subscribe to the Commandments?
Do they suggest they would take care of those with the least?
Do they say thou shalt not kill?

There is northing to suggest either are Christians.

These guys are just embarrassing. I suspect Jesus would rather be associated with Satan than either of them. At least Satan is honest about his intentions.

I wonder if these superstitious xtians use the bible to fix their cars or themselves instead of mechanics and doctors.
facts beat faith every time.
japan relied on faith instead of technology and science during WW2...we know what happened to them.
The USA was built on science and Freedom.
