Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee's surge in Iowa, from single digits in the polls to a virtual tie for the lead among Republicans, has captivated the political world and prompted speculation about just how he did it.

The Fix may have found the answer: a physician from Montgomery, Ala., named Randy Brinson. Brinson is the keeper of a massive e-mail list of much-coveted Christian voters that Huckabee is using to reach and organize people in early-voting states such as Iowa.

Oh, those came from lists that Hillary, and the rest rejected. Nobody wants those wing nuts on thier list of supporters, that is like giving the KKK matches, telling them, not to misbehave. Let's get real here. I smell a huge rove rat. This has his greasy little paws written all over it. This is going to be a stolen election folks unless we get behind people who will move us forward. Do we really want more reagan years with Satan running the show, or another 50 years of war killing the rest of our kids and family members> No healthcare, jobs, no more bars, anything that god forbid smacks of creativity, humor, color or flavor? NOOOOOO, get this goon and his goon squad out, before more get loose.

Do you believe Mike Huckabee's social conservative movement can make him the Republican Nominee of choice?

How long before somebody hacks into the list?

Going to Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ" and signing a list in a theater lobby does not translate into votes for a Southern Evangelical Baptist Preacher from Arkansas. Speaking in tongues and handling snakes isn't necessarily going to get strict Catholics and high Episcopalians to join in a Christian Jihad Crusade.

The list is a nice start and might help Reverend Huckabee in fundraising to those already disposed to his candidacy. But despite their very loud voice within the GOP, they are unable to get any Revival Tent Republicans into office outside of the Bible Belt much less keep them in once their whacko philosophies come out. Rick Santorum suffered one of the most humiliating defeats in electoral history, particularly for a third term incumbent. Ohio defeated Blackwell in a truly spectacular defeat. Virginia voters told George Allen that nooses are no longer fashion accessories.

The social conservatives are going to learn, that while they can accumulate power in the Bible Belt and parts of the Deep South, the rest of the country isn't willing to join the Traveling Salvation Show that they have the Republican Party into.

Interesting but meaningless.

Mike Huckabee won't get anywhere near the nomination with or without a big email list.

There were only 62 million GOP votes cast for George W Bush in 2004...and he ran a well-financed and focused campaign from the start...quite unlike the talibangelizing Huckster now caught up in a gathering media storm about his support for a serial rapist who went on to become a MURDERER!

There may be 70 million names on a fundie email list, but unless they contribute 70 million dollars within the next several weeks, Huckabee will likely be history.
